"I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the cabin was! I read the positive reviews and felt comfortable staying there but didn’t realize how spacious and homey the cabin would feel! The beds were super comfortable, having a washer and dryer in the cabin was a pleasant surprise, and the quietness of the entire resort area was fantastic. Super spread out. Renting canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards was really easy. The cabin got a little warm during the day but the three box fans were a big help."

"We had a wonderful time in spite of gray skies and rain. The cabin was cozy and we loved hearing the ducks in the morning and the loon in the evening. Even had a family of deer with 2 fawns in the yard eating apples. Being right on the water was great for relaxing and enjoying the quiet which was what I needed! Walked into town in between rain showers, ate a lot of good food and ice cream! Would definitely come back again!"

"We had a fantastic stay at this property for a ski trip. The house and land are as lovely as the pictures and are very private. Visited on an extra chilly and windy stretch but house incredibly warm and cozy even during a brief power outage thanks to an automated generator. Outstanding responsiveness from host. We would return without hesitation!"

"Our family enjoyed a wonderful vacation at Golden Smelt. We have been renting VRBO properties for decades and this is by far the best stay we have ever had. The cabin is brand new, and was stocked with everything we needed to make our stay special. We appreciated the well equipped kitchen, the comfortable beds, the stylish decor, the ample parking spaces, and of course the incredible views of mountains and lake.
