One of the coolest little out-of-the way places we have stayed. Super-easy check in, clean, quaint, quiet…I could go on. It is a little outdated in the bathroom design (shower is old) but seriously loved it there. The town was amazing!
Cute and convenient for a last-minute trip to yellow Springs to see Wyclef Jean and Dave Chappelle!
Way closer than staying in Dayton or Springfield! Yellow Springs and it’s people are terrific!

Live termite under the pillow
The room appeared clean when I walked in. Lifted the pillows to put down my pillow from home and out walks a live insect identified as a Formosan Subterranean Termite.I have an app to identify. After that horrible find, I looked around the small room and found a dead firefly and a spider web with a live spider in the bathroom. The live termite was enough for me. I left ASAP and won’t be back.

Cute Concept that Needs Work and Spring Cleaning
We travel long distance for work. After a long morning of packing and riding for hoursand hours in the car we opted to stay in the town of Yellow Springs Ohio. Finding the Springs Motel to be a cute throwback to the 50s type stay we opted to spend the night. Entering through a door that swings out we were shocked to see a very tiny and hot room. Our room contained one double bed with two windows above our heads, a desk and chair with a television, and a mini refrigerator with a small coffee pot and supplies. There is a wall air conditioning unit and a small bathroom with a window. After shooing off several stink bugs and managing the air conditioning unit we opted for a shower and a good night's sleep. Getting into bed my husband commented on the small circular pattern on the mattress. Once in bed and after hours of tossing and turning and listening to the loud rattling air conditioning unit we came to the realization that we were sleeping on bedsprings. Needless to say it was a hot, uncomfortable, and sleepless night for us. Overall the room appears to be clean but clearly there are items that need much attention. The coffee pot and fridge were gummy, the air conditioning unit blew a cloud of dust went first turned on, and we found mold behind the bathroom door. The Springs Motel needs a deep deep spring cleaning and new mattresses. Heck even if the bed had been comfortable we would have been able to deal with all of the other inconsistencies.
The room wasn’t clean when we checked-in; however, after we called to complain, they came to clean the room and did a great job. Apparently there was a mix up in scheduling, as none of the rooms were cleaned. People were sitting outside waiting for their rooms to be cleaned. Those who booked through the motel’s site received a 30% discount; however, they couldn’t offer a discount to those who used a third-party booking agency.
The room was nice, clean and perfect for a night get away. I would only suggest getting a new mattress as it was very droopy in the middle making it hard for two adults to not sink into the middle.
