"Such a lovely place! The bedroom was spacious with a wonderfully comfy bed, and in room coffee bags, fresh milk and cake on arrival. Felt very spoilt! And to cap it all, breakfast was absolutely excellent."

"We received a lovely warm welcome. Lovely hotel. Nice location close to the beach. Lovely comfortable rooms with small en suite bathroom. Big plus for me was the kettle with plenty of tea, coffee and milk in the room. Will definitely book again when coming to Devon."

"Clean, modern facilities in a quaint setting. Continental breakfast was very pleasant. The hosts were great folk. So much more an enjoyable experience than a corporate hotel for us."

"The room was excellent, very clean and comfortable, the park is well positioned opposite Rock Park close to town, good base for visiting north Devon and exmoor."
Awesome slidehouse close to coastpath, pubs, beaches sleeps 12-14
10/10 Excellent
"We had the most marvellous weekend stay in this beautiful property. Paula and her husband have clearly put a huge amount of thought and effort into the Slidehouse. The design and layout of bedrooms is spot on and spotlessly clean. Our party ranged from age 7 to 76 and there was something fun and exciting for all of us. The kids and ladies were hugely impressed by the dressing up box and we men loved the darts, pool table and other manly stuff! All in all I can highly recommend this property to everybody. There is something for you all.Thank you so much Paula."
"We stayed one night in one of the Garden Suites. However we were disappointed to find the buildings and grounds dirty and not maintained very well. Trees required trimming and overgrown areas needed clearing as they were attracting a lot of flies and midgies.
The room itself was ok, bed was comfy and water was hot, however the overall appearance of the walls and ceiling was really tired compared to the images promoted. The room also wasn't particularly clean with hair, mould and dirt attached to skirting boards. The floor quite obviously hadn't been hoovered in a while with lots of bits lying around.
There was no fan or air con, and you didn't really want the doors open due to the insects flying around. It would have been unbearable in 20+ heat.
Having said that the restaurant had a nice array of food options, and the food was delicious and well priced. Service was a little slow but actually made for a nice evening (we had to talk to one another!)
Breakfast was included and again was tasty with a good selection of choice. Some fruit options would have been nice.
Overall we enjoyed our stay, but, in order for us to book a return visit, cleanliness and maintenance standards would need to be improved."
"My wife and I are active octogenarians. This is an excellent hotel for us, for a short break. The staff are genuinely friendly and the decor comfortably slightly old fashioned or traditional. Family group of hotels, well run. Parking adequate but note to reserve if you have blue badge. Food is excellent and breakfasts are brilliant, the menu extensive.
This nice hotel is a favourite with us more mature Devonians. Enjoy!
Ps. Very clean and ensuite bathroom very good."
"An absolute gem of a place to stay: close enough to the pubs and restaurants, the beautiful beaches and the coastal path walks but off the main road so it is set in peace and tranquility.
Johnny the owner is great: enough communication so you know exactly what to expect but without imposing on your stay.
The property is spotless, well equipped and very modern. It has fantastic coastal views and the huge front room window allows you to view the sea from the comfort of the sofa."
