While we were there we were able to visit Traverse City, Petoskey, Mackinac Island, Tahquamenon Falls, and Rogers City all in a reasonable distance drive. There’s a nice farm to table restaurant right up the road and it’s close to Gaylord and Indian River. Really nicely located for natural resources too. Highly recommended! ##### James V. It's about 30-45 minutes away from most of the cities in northern Michigan so it's a great place to stay if you want to visit a few different places. This is it. Quiet, secluded area. Off dirt roads. Surrounded by nature. There are even DNR Elk viewing areas nearby. Although we unfortunately didn't see any elk! The only complaint we had was that the fans had to run at all times (it was hot, and no a/c). The fans were covered with dust. I removed the front of one of them and cleaned it off. We stayed here expecting to travel to different areas up north, which this location allowed for us to do. But it is in the middle of nowhere. Not close grocery stores, parks, etc. I would also say this house might not be suitable for children.
