We had an apartment at Sonneneck that was very spacious, comfortable, secure and beautiful. We also had supper at the Sonneneck restaurant and the meal was the best we had in our entire European vacation! Huub and the Sonneneck team were very hospitable and we enjoyed talking with them and having several beers with them while we stayed there. We had such a great time...

"The check in was terrible. The absolute definition of not to be customer oriented right from the get go. The person at the reception was rude and was very argumentative about the check in time after I proofed her wrong and she diverted to impose to sign the reservation……horrible bad! The next surprise was that we had to get our luggage back in to the car and had to drive to an offsite location/biopsy not as advertised. We had to go 2 floors up to enter the two rooms we booked. "Very convenient location for skiing also to town centre. Only a few minutes walk to a ski slope which was great! Good breakfast and friendly staffs. I had a pleasant stay."

"I stayed at this hotel just for a weekend in February. Whole area in Winterberg was very crowded for ski holiday and there's no parking space available at the hotel. I had to hunt for a parking space for more than one hour. I was charged for a hotel fee when I checked in. Then, I realised that I had already paid it to Hotels.com. After my claim, hotel admitted that I was double charged and they said they will refund. However, I still haven't got refund, questions sent by e-mail were ignored,...

"Arrived at 7.20pm to be told that reception closed at 6.20 even though websites states 9pm. Was then told there was no reservation though they later found it, then was asked to pay again ...... until I could prove I had paid. Else the hotel was ok, the pillows in the room were useless. Evening meal and breakfast were good though. "
