Wonderfully clean, well equipped and spacious property. We were a family of 5 and 2 dogs and the house was plenty big enough for us. Very helpful and friendly hosts. Will definitely return next year

Fabulous John O’Groats Stay
Spotlessly clean and very well appointed dog friendly accommodation in a beautiful setting with sea views. The owners are friendly and helpful without being intrusive. We would definitely stay here again.

Fabulous property

Wonderful stay
The Ha Farmhouse is a very warm and welcoming place. The hosts Catherine and Andrew were very nice and helpful. We stayed almost 4 weeks over the holidays and Catherine decorated for Christmas - it was so cheerful and we loved it! The kitchen is perfect for cooking meals, and has plenty of seating for entertaining friends. There was a welcome pack with wine and goodies, also eggs, bread and butter, tea and coffee. The spaces are comfortable and tastefully decorated. The view from the conservatory is spectacular. We really appreciated it thought and care that Catherine and Andrew put into preparing the house for our visit. We hope to be back before too long!

Amazing property with generous sized rooms, comfy cosy beds, well equipped kitchen (could do with new chopping board & sharp knife), super games room, lots of games in sun room and lovely big enclosed garden for kids to safely play in. Excellent location to go exploring.

John O Groats worth the trip?
The property was very clean and felt Covid safe. The sun room was very well used by my party as somewhere to sit and relax. One slight issue, despite having 3 toilets there wasn’t any upstairs which was not insurmountable, just strange.

Fantastic in every way.
Wonderful property, perfect for our week- hosts were lovely, house was excellent with loads of thoughtful touches, and the welcome pack was a treat. Location was ideal- day trips to Orkney, Wick, Thurso, castle exploring, coastal walks...loved it. Highly recommended, even nicer than it looks.

Clean, well maintained and very well equipped property. The owners were helpful and easily contactable. The gardens are well maintained, large and private. The Ha House is perfect for a family, our ages ranged from 6 to 83. Everyone enjoyed their stay and we all recommend this property for anyone who enjoys adventure, the great outdoors, nature, beaches and walking or cycling and site seeing.

Perfect Property
The Ha Farm House was a peaceful and welcoming home for the week. Everything needed was there in tastefully co-ordinated rooms with plenty of room for us and our family to congregate or separate! The sun lounge was a favourite for all with beautiful views of John O' Groats. We couldn't fault a thing or wish for more. There is plenty of naturally beautiful sites to visit here or just enjoy the tranquil Farmhouse itself.

This is an excellent holiday home, so much space inside and out. Well equipped and very relaxed. There was a plentiful supply of hand sanitiser and soap. It's just a short stroll to John O' Groats were there are excellent lunches and takeaways available. This is our third stay here and we hope to be back next year.

We really enjoyed having the base with which to explore the Caithness area. the house was very clean, well stocked with everything you need. great having coastal path just minutes away for an early morning dog walk. would recommend it heartily.

A restful week in beautiful surroundings
We had a wonderfully quiet and restful week staying at Ha Farmhouse and exploring the beautiful coastline of John O’Groats and the surrounding areas. Ha Farmhouse was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed and more for our stay. Lovely sheltered garden and a short walk along the coastal path to the few shops, coffee shops etc in the village. Catherine and Andrew were lovely and very helpful. Would recommend.

Great house in a great location
Really enjoyed our stay in John O'Groats. House was spotless and well equipped to keep the whole party happy. A few yards from the beach and a safe footpath down to the shops and harbour. If we venture to the top again we'd definitely look to stay again!!

Fantastic house, awesome location
This was a large clean home from home. Everything from light bulbs to milk was supplied. Cake tins to use to biscuits and beverages on arrival. You couldn't want for anything. Garden was secluded, and again everything you needed to relax and enjoy you holiday.. Would definitely book here again.

Lovely, spacious , well equipped property
This is a fantastic, well equipped, spacious and warm property. Everything is included to make your stay most enjoyable. I have stayed at many properties over the years and this is one of the best. The owners make you feel completely at home, and are most welcoming without being intrusive. The garden is very private and the property is big enough to have your own space. Perfect.

Great for family and friends
The Ha is a warm, big, family house with something for everyone, a playroom for the little ones, an enclosed garden, a lovely sun room and a big kitchen. The owners are welcoming but unobtrusive. The location is great: John o'Groats just a short stroll away, the stunning Duncansby stacks a short drive or a longer walk.

Fantastic family friendly accomodation. Well equiped, spacious and welcoming.
We had a family gathering here with 5 adults a toddler and a baby. Absolutely brilliant place to stay. Certainly exceeded our expectations. The owners live next door and made us feel very welcome indeed. The house is really large and has loads of separate spaces to spread out and relax. Conservatory, games room and utility room all came in very handy. Even in cooler breezy weather the conservatory is warm sun trap. The full size fridge and freezer in the utility room are ideal for storing the on-line shopping order deliveries. The games room is well stocked with a range of toys, games and books to keep a wide age range of kids entertained. It's an easy walk down stony track to the harbour at John o' Groats which has cafes, ice cream, fish and chips as well as the gift shops. Also great for sunset photos at 10:30 pm onwards in June! We loved watching the seabirds all along the coast and kept a constant watch out for whales and dolphins but it was quite rough most of the time so no luck this year. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again and can highly recommend it.

The property well placed for trips to Orkney and attractions along the North East. Some stunning beaches and coastal walks plus easy walking to John O'Groats. The house was particularly well equipped for large groups, with a cooking range and large fridge and separate large freezer, plus small fridge in kitchen. 2 comfortable sitting areas, one a sun lounge, plus a games room. Lovely views with good enclosed garden. Property owners very friendly and helpful, on hand for advice if required. We would definitely use this property again.

A perfect holiday spot in John O'Groats
I stayed here at the end of May 2018 with friends, to do a spot of orca watching! The house is in the perfect location, in the heart of John O'Groats and within easy walking distance down to the ferry and to neighbouring holiday houses where friends were staying. There is a separate path down to the coast and ferry with a beautiful sea view, so you don't have to walk via the road. The house is large, comfy and really nicely furnished and Andrew and Catherine were very friendly and welcoming hosts. I can't fault it and would recommend it for everyone - it would easily suit larger groups or families. If we are ever back in John O'Groats, we will definitely be back!

I am in love....
This is such a beautiful and peaceful place. We enjoyed the very large house and the hospitality of Katie and Andrew very much. In fact, we will be re-booking as soon as we get home - it was just that perfect. A path leads down to the sea and on to the village of John O' Groats and on to Duncansby Head and beyond. Stargazing was wonderful. The ferry to Orkney was also walking distance. The house had everything we needed....made one stop at Tesco and along with our welcome pack we were set for a week of exploring and relaxing. There are 4 large bedrooms, two nice baths - both on the main level - a den/lounge, and our favorite place, a sunroom. There is also a huge kitchen, great laundry room, and game room - we didn't use all these rooms but they would be great for some families. The house is perfectly situated and we were truly happy to be there. We are now touring Inverness, but had I known how great it would be, I would have just stayed at the Ha. I miss it!

Excellent property for our family holiday
The Ha Farmhouse with its four bedrooms, well-equipped kitchen, sun lounge and children's room was perfect for our family holiday. The sea and village of John O'Groats is a very short walk away. There are plenty of coastal walks and landscapes to view. We just about kept our teenagers happy. The owners provided a lovely welcome pack and were most helpful and informative. The house was very clean. We would recommend it.

Seven adults and a dog stayed for 2 weeks in June. The house was warm and comfortable and the weather was good. I bought some lovely gifts in John O'Groats. We enjoyed a trip to Orkney as well as travelling futher afield.

Really comfortable and cozy home from home!
We had a wonderful time at The Ha Farmhouse. It's a lovely comfortable home, the beds are heaven and after busy days out exploring we slept like logs! The home is very well equipt and had everything we needed for our stay. The conservatory is a lovely place to relax in and enjoy the views. Lovely to have a path leading right down to the beach and an easy meander over to John O Groats for a delicious ice cream! So much to do and see in the area and Th Ha is the perfect base to do it all from. Many thanks, would love to return one day, and won't hesitate to recommend it to family and friends!

Excellent accommodation for a family holiday
We had a great holiday in this farmhouse! It was recommended to us by a family member, and we would recommend it to others. - plenty of room for a family of 5, lovely big kitchen/dining area and a separate playroom for the kids - clean & well stocked with everything we needed - a welcome basket of goodies was provided - friendly & helpful owners who didn't bat an eyelid when I admitted we'd broken something (sorry!) - great location, a short walk to the coast & the John O'Groats harbour and excellent beaches within a short drive - great value in comparison with other cottages we've stayed in. Only negative point I found: the wifi router was a bit iffy, not all our devices could connect to it.

A good week with lots to do nearby. Beaches, castles, tourist attractions and for adventure, Air Extreme near Gills Bay. It was ideal for our cycling trip to the Orkney Islands too.

Great place to stay!
The size of the property was perfect for our group of 7. My granddaughter loved playing in the toy room every morning while we cooked breakfast in the large kitchen that was equipped with everything you could need. We enjoyed several meals around the large dinning table with the patio doors open letting in the lovely sea air. Our first few days of our stay we used the sun room to enjoy a glass of wine or two watching the sun go down. The large yet cosy living area was used more towards the end of the week when the weather changed (typical Scotland). The bedrooms were spacious and cosy too. Just a short walk from the John O'Groats sign where you can get the ferry to Orkney and the Sea View Hotel which serves lovely meals where we enjoyed my husbands 60th birthday. The location was also a good starting off point for our days out to Wick, Thurso and the beautiful Dunnet Bay. Overall highly recommended.

Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Woche. Außergewöhnliche Küstenwanderungen, Castle of Mey, Castle of Sinclair, leckerer Wolfsburn Whisky und Essen im Seaview Hotel, das auch einige vegetarische Gerichte bietet. Dazu das perfekt ausgestattete, wunderschöne Ferienhaus von Catherine und Andrew. Vielen Dank, daß wir das Haus nutzen durften.

Schöner Ausgangspunkt für kleine Touren zu Fuß oder mit dem Auto
Sehr schönes Haus mit netten Vermietern auf dem gemeinsamen Hof. Tolle Lage, schöne Zimmer, große Küche und gemütlichem Wintergarten. Großes Spielzimmer bei schlechtem Wetter. Ein Ort an dem ich wiederkehren würde.
