Our fully furnished cottage offers stunning views from the picture windows and deck, along with a peaceful pond and picnic area and dedicated stargazing space. Nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains at an elevation of 2250 feet, you'll find 8 miles of hiking trails across 138 acres of lush, mature forest. Enjoy an abundance of wildlife and connect with nature, all while being close to state parks and outdoor activities. Come experience the vibrant fall foliage , sunrise in the picturesque view or watch Perseid meteor showers.

Peaceful & Picturesque Getaway

It was a perfect stay at Stargazer and the property completely lived up to its name of Tranquility Trails. We purposely chose this sweet and cozy cottage to get away from 4th of July fireworks for our very anxious and noise-sensitive dog. There were fireworks in the distance and we couldn't hear a thing, with the TV on regular volume. Everyone, including our 2 dogs, were charmed and we were well-rested and relaxed throughout the stay. The inside is welcoming and comfortable with a well-stocked kitchen. Outside -- the views are breathtaking and we loved having our coffee and eating out on the deck while staring at the rolling green hills, watching wildlife, and listening to birdsong. Marilyn and Lisa were so responsive and made us feel so well taken care of. We can't wait to go back and experience this gem of a place in the fall and winter.

Southern Tier Perfection!

I booked the Stargazer for the views, the trails, and amenities of the cottage - it did not disappoint! The listing photos are very accurate, with the views being even more beautiful in person. This is a very quiet location (might have heard 3 cars pass by all weekend!) and has a "get away from it all" feel. The accommodations made me feel at home right away, the kitchen provides anything you could need - full-sized appliances, Keurig, microwave, and anything you'd need for cooking. The bedroom has an incredibly comfortable bed and good storage. There's a nicely sized full bathroom (full-size shower/tub with great water pressure!) The cottage was clearly cleaned and prepped for my arrival. Marilyn provided quick replies to my messages throughout the planning and my stay. My dog and I loved the trails! The trail maps are nicely coded and labeled and the trails themselves were clear and easy to see while walking. The trail system gives you options of shorter or longer hikes depending on the turns you take. The cottage was dog-friendly with space for his food bowls, lots of floor space to stretch out and flooring that was easy to clean.If you're looking for a quiet getaway in nature with all the comforts of home, this is the place to go!

Very accurate to listing. Property was perfect for my birthday weekend with my boyfriend and dogs. Beautiful views even in snowy weather. Lisa is AMAZING!!! This gem of a cottage has absolutely stunning views. We booked our stay during a new moon in hopes of seeing the Milky Way at night. Unfortunately, it rained. Thankfully the cottage is 10 minutes from Wellsville so we had a good evening there and a warm, cozy place to spend the night. The bed was very comfortable. Even though it is five hours from our home, we hope to return when the weather is conducive for stargazing.

Quiet getaway with an amazing view

Was looking for a relaxing place where I could decompress after a stressful project for work and we very satisfied with this property. Great view off the back deck for stargazing or to spot the several deer, hummingbirds, groundhogs, etc that visit that open space from time to time. Excellent kitchen equipment. Very easy to communicate with the owner. A little dusty in a few corners, but certainly cleaner than most of the cottage/cabin vacation spots that I've frequented in the past. Strongly recommend if you need a break and a change of scenery.

The cottage was very quiet. The view was outstanding. We enjoyed watching the deer in the field in the morning and evening. Wellsville is only 12 minutes away so we could still make a quick trip into town if needed. We would definitely like to come back in the future.

What a view

Stargazer is completely as advertised - cozy, comfortable, clean and celestial viewing is on par with some of the best places we've ever traveled. The amenities were above our expectations, so well stocked we needn't have packed many of the items we did. The seclusion brings a variety of wildlife for viewing from the back deck or from the large windowed rooms (including the bedroom). We went for the stargazing and watching the Perseid Meteor showers. Even with some weather challenges - we saw meteors on both nights we stayed (and sooo many satellites). The one instance we had to contact staff, we received a prompt and appropriate response. We had no real complaints (a few minor "wish this or that") - yet nothing that made our experience wish we had not booked and certainly enough plusses that we plan on booking again.

Quaint and quiet....perfect little hideaway

What a perfect place. Secluded, beautiful and cozy. Tucked away from everything. Only you and nature all around. We enjoyed everything about it. Shopping is only about a 15 minute drive, so not too far away, but far enough. The owner is very sweet and quick to respond and is helpful. Look forward to going back and would recommend to anyone who needs to regroup from the craziness of city life.
