"Quiet area, nice owners and bar staff. A nice rustic countryside feel. Some wear and tear around the property and in the basic bedroom, could use some love (springy mattress). Not any shops nearby but plenty of pubs. Water in the room would have been good. "

I found it was just to unbearable to sleep. Warm day and room above the kitchen. One member of staff said to mention to reception. She said they have a lot of people say about it and they should be doing something about it. Was I was checking out and mentioned to the lady there. She brushed me off and I felt awkward and hurt. The food was Excellent - better than the Michelin * restuarants I have been to recently in London and Venice. The grounds are spectacular - all 66 acres of them and its worth visiting just for this alone.
The bedrooms are very nice and confortable. We had an Orangery suite which has Aircon. The Main house rooms do not.
The staff were superb! Expecially compared to some other much more expensive hotels where the service really lets them down. "
