"Family friendly rates. Our room was clean. Bed and pillows comfortable. Grounds well maintained. Pool open and well maintained being enjoyed by families. Complimentary bottles of water. Friendly front desk staff. Delicious breakfast. Overall all a nice weekend stay."

"Right away we were greeting and welcomed. The staff gave us all the information about the hotel we needed and got us checked in fast. The decor of the hotel are a great experience whether or not you're into hunting and fishing. We swam multiple times during our stay and the pool and hot tub were perfect. Breakfast was a solid buffet and we all got full. Security at the hotel was great also, and being right across the street from Wonder of Wildlife was awesome. Highly recommend staying here, especially at the price."

Lamplighter Inn & Suites - South

4/10 Poor

"Staff was fine. We had an old room. Ac poor. Mattress terrible. Room dirty and I had to clean the bathroom. No amenities. Coffee supplies but no coffee maker. No phone in the room. Had to go ask for towels. Stained and sticky carpet. Hole in the Sheetrock in the bathroom. Shower head clogged with deposits. Hard water. Window seal broken so it was cloudy between the panes so you couldn’t see outside. The lobby had breakfast but we didn’t dare assuming the kitchen was as dirty as the room. Trash all over the parking lot. They are remodeling but our room should NOT be rented in the current condition. Unless you get a newly remodeled room, be sure to inspect the room before staying. I cannot recommend in good conscience."

University Plaza Hotel and Convention Center Springfield

"The people at the University Plaza were great. Very pleasant and friendly. The room was not great. It's old and outdated. The bathtub was dirty and stained. It definitely needs to be replaced. There are no USB connections anywhere in the room. The carpet is worn and also in need of replacement. This used to be a great property and was one of the nicer places in Springfield at one time. Those days are in the past unless they upgrade and clean the place up a little."
