"the Black bear lodge was everything we could have asked for and more. It was readily apparent that the host was thoughtful and intentional on providing an excellent stay for us. I could not recommend this house more. "

"Atmosphere is nice. Room I had A/C wasn’t working. The TVs are a little outdated. The backlight seems like it was going out so the picture was dark. Went to fitness center to fine 3 pieces of equipment. Treadmill, Elliptical, and bike. It’s the nicest hotel in Madras. So they up charge it."

"Bed coverings were cheap and inadequate. Heater was excessively noisy. Bright light shined thru the rear window with no blind or way to shut out the light. I arrived at 2am and left at 5am. Way over priced."

"The room was clean and quiet. The fridge had a small freezer as well. There was also a microwave. There was plenty of drawer space. The bed was comfortable. There were nice views and a trailhead on the property. Easy drive to Smith Rock State Park. "
