8/10 Good
"Owner of the motel was extremely welcoming and very helpful. The kitchen had all that we needed for a short stay. All the rooms were very clean and the owner had turned on the heating for us before we arrived which was appreciated. Have stayed at this motel quite a few times before."

What is the best area to stay in Waikaka?
The best area to stay in Waikaka is within the village centre, particularly around the main street, to ensure convenience and access to local amenities.Waikaka is a small, rural village, and the centre provides the most practical and comfortable base for visitors. The main street, Waikaka Road, is where you'll find the local pub, the general store, and the community hall. You'll find comfortable temperatures for exploring the local area, whether you're interested in the nearby rivers or simply enjoying the rural setting. The longer daylight hours also provide more time for sightseeing and leisurely drives through the scenic countryside. For couples looking for a relaxing escape with opportunities for gentle outdoor pursuits, visiting in January or February is ideal.
