"Rommet var rent men opplevelsene da vi ankom var dårlig og vanskelig å finne fram. Trappa opp til rommet var av betong og dårlig, rekkverket flasser, med andre ord veldig shabby. At vi skulle dele med andre beboere, de var kommet først og "eide" kjøkkenet. Vegglampe over senga på høyre side manglet stikkontakt. Alt i alt, vi sov godt, fikk dusjet og gått på toalett."

"The location is nice by the water, balcony facing sea direction. Luxury to have a house with the space and everything you need. Digital lock is easy to use and check in is very easy. Easy to park but also within walking distance to town. Shower pressure is great. Two bathrooms make things convenient. Not the most clean judging by the bedding and me start coughing (dust allergy) but not too bad to affect the overall experience. Would recommend for Lofoten experience."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Vestpollen?
The best area to stay in Vestpollen is Vestpollen itself, as it's a small, concentrated village offering direct access to the best of the region.

Vestpollen is a compact village located along the shoreline of the Vestpollen Fjord, surrounded by impressive mountains. The main road, Fv888, runs through the village, connecting the various guesthouses and local amenities. You'll find a small grocery shop and a few local eateries here, making it convenient for daily needs. The village is known for its serene setting and direct access to the water, with many accommodations offering fjord views.

Couples looking for a tranquil escape often find Vestpollen ideal. The quiet surroundings and stunning natural beauty provide a superb backdrop for relaxation. You can enjoy walks along the fjord, go fishing, or simply unwind with a view of the mountains and water. Many guesthouses here offer private balconies or terraces, superb for enjoying the midnight sun or northern lights.

For travellers keen on outdoor activities, Vestpollen serves as an excellent base. Its proximity to hiking trails, kayaking opportunities, and scenic viewpoints means you can easily embark on adventures directly from your accommodation.
When is the best time to go to Vestpollen?
The best time to visit Vestpollen is during the summer months, from June to August, or for those seeking the Northern Lights, during the colder, darker months from October to March.

For summer travel, Vestpollen offers long daylight hours, often with 24-hour daylight around the summer solstice. This is ideal for outdoor activities like hiking along the coastal paths, kayaking in the fjords, or exploring the nearby white-sand beaches. The weather is generally milder, making it comfortable for sightseeing and enjoying the natural scenery. This season is superb for families or couples looking to experience the Lofoten Islands' natural beauty with maximum daylight.

If witnessing the Northern Lights is a priority, the period from October to March provides the best conditions. The longer nights and often clear, crisp skies increase your chances of seeing this spectacular natural phenomenon. While temperatures are colder, many accommodations are well-equipped for winter, offering cosy stays after a day of aurora hunting or exploring snow-dusted landscapes.
