"What a little gem . For a 2* hostal this place was excellent. Spotlessly clean . Beautiful decor throughout with many Andalucian tiled floors . Jose was very friendly and helpful. Underground parking for 11.50€ a day close by or free on street parking ( if you can find a spot) 20 min walk to the beach or the local bus costs 60 cents each Bathroom a little small but adequate air conditioning in bedroom and beds comfortable Would definitely stay here again. Deserves a 5 * review in my opinion...

3.0 star property
Lanjaron
8.0 out of 10, Very good, (75 reviews)
"The hotel is basic, but clean and good for one night. Air conditioning was functioning perfectly. Breakfast needs at least 1 gluten free option and the staff need training on gluten free requirements. The main issue with our stay was the swimming pool. Nowhere on the listing did it say the pool is open to the public. This meant the pool was extremely busy and it was impossible to find a sun lounger or even a space to sit."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Velez De Benaudalla?
The best area to stay in Vélez de Benaudalla is within the village itself, particularly around the historic centre.

This area is the heart of the village, characterised by its narrow, winding streets, traditional white-washed houses, and the impressive Castillo de Vélez de Benaudalla perched above. The main square, Plaza de la Iglesia, is a focal point with local cafes and the beautiful Church of Nuestra Señora del Rosario. It's a small, walkable village where everything is easily accessible on foot.

Couples looking for a peaceful and authentic Andalusian experience will find the village centre ideal. You can enjoy strolls through the historic lanes, visit the Nasrid Garden (Jardín Nazarí), and dine at local tavernas, all within a relaxed setting. The pace of life here is unhurried, superb for unwinding.

For solo travellers seeking a tranquil base with good access to nature, staying in the village offers convenience. You're well-placed for walks and hikes in the surrounding hills and along the Guadalfeo River, and it's easy to connect with local life.
When is the best time to go to Velez De Benaudalla?
The best time to go to Velez De Benaudalla is during spring (April to June) or autumn (September to October).

During these months, the weather is pleasantly warm, typically ranging from 20°C to 28°C, which is ideal for exploring the area's natural beauty and outdoor activities. You'll find fewer crowds compared to the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed experience when visiting attractions like the Jardín Nazarí or enjoying a walk along the river.

Couples looking for a romantic escape will appreciate the tranquil atmosphere and comfortable temperatures for alfresco dining or exploring the charming village streets without the intense summer heat. The spring brings blooming flowers, adding to the scenic beauty, while autumn offers a lovely golden light and comfortable evenings.

Families with younger children will also find these seasons more comfortable for outdoor adventures.
