Great cozy home
What a beautiful little home Birdies place is! So clean and comfy. The owners are super nice and the area is very pretty. Loved seeing the longhorns! Definitely plan on coming back.

Best Place Ever!
Another wonderful stay at this cottage. Ray and Debby should get an award for the best hosts! They are very responsive if you need anything!!! The cottage is so comfortable and it truly feels like home away from home. We enjoyed the beautiful weather, the longhorns, donkeys, deer and rabbit! We can't wait to come back!

Birdie’s Place
Birdies place was an adorable country cottage. We spent most of our time, exploring the area and dining out. At the end of the day, when we found ourselves worn out, Birdie’s place was a welcome retreat. A very quiet, comfortable, and cozy place for relaxing and re-energizing. It is as advertised. And communication with Ray is very good. We highly recommend Birdie’s place for your Texas getaway. Glenn & Amy W.

Home away from home!
The minute I walked in the door…it felt like home! This property offers everything you need and more! Birdies is in an amazing location, nestled next to the longhorns and the donkeys! The cottage has everything you need for an amazing stay! Ray and Debby are the best hosts ever and are a text away if you need anything! We took in Countryfest while we were there and enjoyed the beautiful fall colors! Debby has the cottage in full fall decor and it is absolutely magical! Can’t wait to come back! The cottage was so cute. It was stocked with everything that we needed. Great detail with the decorating of the cottage so homey & comfortable. The outside space was my favorite part. So peaceful & quiet. I definitely want to go back and experience this cottage again.

Perfect stay with True Hospitality!!!!!
Our son needed eye surgery in Tyler and living 1.5 hrs away we sought out a place that was pretty close to the hospital for our early arrival. We travel very frequently, always staying in a STR (at least 6 times a year) and this was the first time we have had a host that went above and beyond . Ray was always available no matter what time it was. We were even surprised with fresh blueberry muffins, coffee, creamer, milk, cold bottle water and my sons favorite drink and snacks. The home was easy to find and the landscaping was beautiful. Everything is so clean inside and outside. I forgot my toothpaste and toothbrush and they had extras there. We enjoyed watching the longhorns, donkeys, and rabbits from the front and back porch. All the little special touches around the home from the table that Ray made, the scrapbook with the history of the home, places to eat nearby, and letters from previous guests, to labeling things with cute tags make your stay relaxing. Ray even checked on our son the day of surgery which was so very thoughtful of him. We will absolutely stay here again!!

Best Place EVER
This is our 4th stay at Birdie’s and we fall more in love with it each time! First, our hosts Ray and Debby are amazing! Very attentive to any need you would have! The cottage has everything you need and more. Great location for day trips to Fort Worth or Waco. One of the best things are the Longhorns and Donkeys that are in the field next to the cottage! What beautiful animals. Thanks again for sharing your beautiful cottage with us! Hope to see you again soon!

Great Stay in the Country!
We absolutely loved staying here! The hosts go above and beyond and provided amenities such as hot chocolate for the kids, muffins, fire wood, popcorn, etc. The cottage is cute and the location is quiet and peaceful. I'd highly recommend Birdies and I'd love to stay here again.

Our stay has been a much needed retreat. We own and operate 3 businesses that require our attention 24/7. Live animals depend on us. To get away takes months of planning. We love what we do but everyone needs a break in their life. This weekend has been a rejuvenating experience. The peace and quiet is all encompassing. When we return home we are recharged, and refocused. I recommend this place to anyone wanting to get away.

Good location hiking and spring flowers
My wife and I are retired and wanted a two bedroom house near Tyler to enjoy the spring flowers in the area and to do some easy walks. (Tyler State Park).This place fit the and had all the amenities we needed. We brought our own DVD's. The big flat screen TV and effective window shades made our movie binging satisfying. However the sofa was low slung and was a challenge for us oldies to get out of. For those who like to stream videos, the capabilities are there. The beds were good, and the quiet and darkend windows made for a good night's repose and/or for sleeping late . If you like cutesy country decor and spice scents, this is the place for you, although those features were not our preference. The best feature was the helpful and accommodating owner.

Just what we needed
The property and host were exceptional. They where even kind enough to run over some coffee . I am a basic blk coffee and they had a beautiful arrangement of flavored coffee. I asked if I could know where to pick up a std cup and they delivered me coffee 10 min later. More than I could of asked for and exceptional care to cleanliness on the property . Great guest book ,great memories, great service, everything set up with simple instructions

"Birdie's Place", is truly exceptionally, outstanding! We have had the good fortune, to stay in some very nice B&B's previously. However, Ray and Debbie's "Birdie's Place", is easily (the) nicest rental we have ever found, and especially for the price. The home is just beautiful, spotlessly clean, and the decor is done so well, that it is immediately obvious how much time and attention to detail, has gone into this wonderful getaway. Ray and Debbie are also the most accommodating hosts we've ever met. We had confirmed with another B&B, about a week previously. Just 22 hours before we were to check-in, the owner of that other property, had to cancel our reservation, as there was no water due to drought. We had an appointment set the very next day, to donate a very important artifact to the School Museum in New London, Texas, so we were scrambling to find another rental. Finally, I spotted "Birdie's Place" on Vrbo. I sent a reservation and message at near 1:00 in the morning, expecting that I'd not hear back until "banker's hours" that day. Instead, Ray responded almost immediately, got us booked right away beginning the same day, and we made our appointment at the Museum later the same afternoon, as planned. I cannot say enough good about "Birdie's Place", the significant and interesting history behind it, and the kindness and genuine caring nature, of Ray and Debbie. If we ever travel into the East Texas area, we will definitely book our stay, at Birdie's Place!

Wonderful peaceful weekend destination!
My friend was visiting me from out of state. We decided to go to First Monday. We stayed 2 nights at Birdies. What a wonderful time we had. The house, property n location are Perfect. Squeaky clean, fully stocked and amazing decor. The kitchen was stocked for breakfast, the beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows, wifi & tv worked great. We were greeted with a welcome note. I can't think of a rental that I have enjoyed more. We hated to leave. We will b back!

Relaxing getaway
Mom (93) and I enjoyed a weekend getaway for my birthday in Birdie’s cottage. We love nature so the setting and set up with front and back porches and bird feeders was especially nice. And a perfect time of year for hummingbirds. Our hosts made my birthday special too with all we needed to celebrate.

Anniversary Retreat
We were looking for a place to “Get away” from it all and relax. This IS the place! We spent our time relaxing and reading on the porches. Enjoyed the peace and quiet, along with watching the wildlife. Everything was furnished and well spelled out. What made this place extra special, is the hosts: Ray and Debbie. They are very welcoming and accommodating without being intrusive. We will definitely be back!

This is our second stay here. The hosts go the "extra mile" to make our stay a pleasant one. We didn't need a thing, and everything was so beautiful. Tasty blueberry muffins and chilled soda on ice. nice surprise.

Best stay ever!!
Well for starters, I mentioned to the owners the trip was for my birthday. We walked in to a chilled bottle of champagne and a whole cake! Set up with such care and thought, the card was a great touch! We settled in to the bed rooms with plenty of room for 2 couples. The decorations throughout the house was very cute and coordinating with the whole theme. We had asked for the propane grill and that was furnished in perfect condition. The backyard set up was on point, with room to relax on the porch and around the fire! Parking was very easy and the neighbor longhorns and donkeys were an amazing cherry on top! We will be looking to come back very soon!

An Ideal Getaway
We absolutely fell in love with Birdie’s Place! It is quaint, peaceful and cozy; the perfect place to unplug. We had excellent communication from our hosts, Ray and Debbie! They provided everything we needed. All we had to do was show up. Birdie’s Place is very clean and well kept. We were very impressed with the decor details and the cute notes throughout the house. Everything about Birdie’s Place was perfectly delightful. We stayed at the cottage while our grandkids were at Pine Cove for the weekend. Canton Trip
This was a girls trip where I met my friends for endless shopping. I have stayed in VRBOs throughout the US and Europe and I have never had such a hostess. The house had pumpkins everywhere and was decorated so nicely. But the extra touches were phenomenal.....cupcakes, hot chocolate, popcorn, smores kit and much more. We really enjoyed ourselves however be prepared to be way in the country but it was beautiful.

Birdies Blessings!
We were on our 40th Anniversary trip, and wanted a nice homey place where we were on our own time schedule and to feel like we were home... Birdies Place was the exact spot we needed! Cchek in was so easy, we were surprised that Ray & Debbie had a sweet surprise of Chocolate Cake and Champagne waiting for us... the home was so clean, and beautiful, yet we were made to feel like it was our restored 1930 Farm House... with stunning rooms, totally modernized appliances and such a beautiful design and feel. Our nights infront of the firepit and mornings on the beautiful and comfortable porches were absolutely stunning! We had a fantastic visit with Ray and Debbie that we requested, and found out what a blessing that truly was... such generous and genuine people. We feel we've made new friends. Will we return? Absolutely!! We are already planning our return trip. Thanks Ray & Debbie for such a great, peaceful and pleasant atmosphere for us to send the time celebrating us, and our 40 years of marriage. Serene Country Setting
This is by far one of the best getaway spots we have been to! The place was immaculate and had all the comforts and amenities of home. I loved the two porches because sitting on the porch in the morning with my coffee is one of my favorite things to do. I loved the grass outside. It was dense and felt so good walking on it barefoot. We cook most of our meals when away so the kitchen was perfectly set up for us to do just that. I found the queen bed that we slept in to be quite comfy. We were looking to unwind and we were able to do just that. The owners were wonderful hosts and responsive to messages. They clearly put much thought into decorating this cozy and comfy cottage and providing all that is needed for a carefree stay. We are planning to go back next spring and catch the Tyler Rose Garden in full bloom. Thank you Ray and Debbie!

What a great property! The cottage is absolutely beautiful and had everything we needed for our stay. Everything was spotless! Ray and Debby have gone to great lengths to make this cottage a home away from home. From the decor which is adorable, the comfy beds, the decorated porches and the longhorns next door! Nicest and cleanest vrbo rental ever! Wonderful, comfortable, clean home away from home. Loved the country setting, welcoming front porch, and quiet back porch. Felt so welcomed when we arrived with lights on in the house and outside, yummy muffins and special lemonade chilled in silver bucket, and ac on a very comfortable temperature. Never been to a rental that already had smore makings, popcorn, and other conveniences in frig and cabinets. Super comfy beds, pillow options, linens, towels, etc. Beautiful and cozy details throughout the home. Would return to area again just to stay here and go back to Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary and Caldell Zoo, both must dos. Thank you to very communicative and accessible hosts! Truly wonderful in every way!

The house was absolutely beautiful! The scenery was the most amazing view with the long horns coming to the fence to visit us was also an amazing experience. The perfect stay
The pictures, although lovely, did not do justice to this home. It was far better than we expected. We spent a good half hour just exploring all the details of the home and yard, not to mention the welcoming amenities. The hosts left so many treats for us to enjoy and provided toiletries in case we forgot something. Such a comfortable, private, and peaceful setting indoor and out. We LOVED it!!

Perfect cottage.
Nestled in the piney woods, this cottage was perfect for a getaway from the big city. Everything was clean. We had everything we needed.
