Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Tushemisht?
The best area to stay in Tushemisht is right along the shores of Lake Ohrid, particularly near the main promenade.

This area is the heart of Tushemisht for visitors, offering direct access to the lake and its beautiful views. The promenade is lined with restaurants and cafes, and you'll find most of the guesthouses and hotels within a short walk. It's a compact area, making it easy to explore on foot.

Couples will find this lakeside area particularly appealing. The serene setting by the water is superb for relaxing evenings, and many accommodations offer balconies with lake views. You're also close to the Drilon National Park, a lovely spot for a peaceful stroll or a boat trip, just a short walk away.

For families, staying near the lake is also ideal due to the easy access to the water for swimming and the many eateries along the promenade.
When is the best time to go to Tushemisht?
The best time to visit Tushemisht depends on whether you prefer warm weather and swimming or a quieter, cooler experience.

For those who enjoy swimming and warm, sunny days, the peak season from June to August is ideal. During these months, Lake Ohrid is great for water activities, and the weather is consistently pleasant for exploring the village and surrounding areas. This period is particularly good for families looking to make the most of the lake.

If you prefer to avoid the busiest crowds and don't mind cooler temperatures, the shoulder seasons of May and September offer a lovely alternative. The weather is still mild enough for outdoor activities, and the scenery around the lake is beautiful with fewer visitors.
