About this property

Game-Day Compound: Pool, 4BR, Walk to UA Stadium

  • Description

Game weekend, sorted. The Hampton House is a two-house compound in the Jefferson Park Historic District, a straight shot south to Arizona Stadium: about 1.5 miles, a 30-minute walk or 5-minute ride. Eight guests spread across a 3-bedroom main house and a poolside casita, with a private pool, covered patio bar and grill in a red-brick courtyard built for pregame and postgame. Main Gate Square, 4th Avenue and Downtown's restaurants and bars are minutes away.

    The space

    Your game-day headquarters

Start the morning in the red-brick courtyard: coffee by the pool, something on the grill, drinks at the covered patio bar. Then walk to the stadium with the rest of the crowd, or take a five-minute ride and skip the parking hunt. After the final whistle, the courtyard is waiting for the replay, the debate and the nightcap.

    Room for the whole crew

Two houses means everyone gets a real bed and some breathing room.

Primary bedroom: king bed, en-suite bathroom, door straight to the courtyard

Bedrooms two and three: one queen bed and one full bed, sharing the hall bathroom

Poolside casita: queen bed, living area with a twin daybed, its own kitchen and bathroom

The 1940s main house was restored in 2021 and furnished with a mix of new pieces and antiques from Japan and Hong Kong. There's a full kitchen, a fireplace, a washer and dryer, and wifi clocked at 557 Mbps for streaming the other games.

Eat and drink like a local

Tucson is a UNESCO City of Gastronomy, and the house sits in the middle of it.

Main Gate Square and University Boulevard: 1.5 miles, the campus bar and restaurant strip

4th Avenue: about 2 miles, Tucson's liveliest stretch of bars, patios and late-night food

Downtown and Congress Street: under 10 minutes by car, with the city's best-known restaurants and cocktail bars

    2026 home games

    Oct. 24: Iowa State (Homecoming)

    Nov. 6: TCU

    Nov. 14: Utah

Nov. 28: Arizona State (the 100th Territorial Cup)

    Guest access

The whole property is yours: main house, casita, pool and courtyard. Check in with your own door code. There's a covered parking spot plus room for a second car in the driveway, and free street parking for everyone else.

    Other things to note

    Good to know

The pool is open year-round and unheated. It's at its best May through September; in fall it's a brisk dip, and the built-in corner bench is a nice place to sit with a drink. There's no hot tub.

The casita has its own air conditioners and space heaters rather than central air. Desert nights cool off in fall, so we leave extra blankets.

Quiet hours in the neighborhood run from 10 pm to 7 am. Police will ticket houses that draw their attention, and guests are responsible for those costs.

The neighborhood is residential, with a mix of longtime residents and students. Game weekends are lively all around campus. If anything disturbs you, message us and we'll sort it out.

Hot water takes a few minutes to reach the taps, especially on your first day. Let it run and it will come.

Families are welcome. The pool has no safety fence, the house isn't child-proofed and the garden has cactus, so little ones need an adult close by.

A fantastic place to stay.

I have stayed in many VRBOs over the years and this by far was the best place I have stayed. WELL worth the price. Check in was the easiest I have had. My daughter and I stayed two weeks and enjoyed every minute of it. We especially love the back yard. While it was too cold to swim we simply enjoyed the lighted covered patio while enjoying our favorite beverage. The bedroom and bathrooms were perfect for our stay. The location is great too. Not far from the UofA and 4th Ave. I truly hope for our next visit we can come back here. Hopfully at a time so we can use the pool. Thanks!
