Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Troche?
The best area to stay in Troche is within the village centre itself, especially for those seeking convenience and a local experience.

The village centre of Troche is compact and charming, centred around the historic church and the main square. You'll find a few local shops, a bakery, and a restaurant or two within easy walking distance. The streets are generally quiet and well-maintained, reflecting the relaxed pace of rural French life.

Couples looking for a peaceful getaway will particularly appreciate staying in the village centre. It offers a chance to experience authentic local life, enjoy leisurely strolls, and dine at the local establishments without needing to travel far. The proximity to the church and the main square adds to the village's character.

For families, staying slightly outside the immediate village centre, perhaps in a gîte or a holiday home with a garden, could be an excellent option. These properties often provide more space for children to play and offer a tranquil setting, while still being a short drive or an easy walk from the village amenities.
When is the best time to go to Troche?
The best time to go to Troche is during the late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant and the region is less crowded.

Late spring offers comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 15°C to 22°C, making it ideal for outdoor activities like exploring the local markets and walking the countryside paths. The landscape is lush and green, and you'll find local produce, like strawberries, in abundance. It's a great time for couples looking for a romantic getaway, as the gardens are in full bloom and many châteaux open their doors for tours.

Early autumn provides similar mild weather, with temperatures usually between 12°C and 20°C. This period is superb for those who enjoy culinary experiences, as it coincides with the harvest season for grapes and other local produce. You can visit vineyards for tastings or enjoy traditional French cuisine in the village's restaurants.
Can I cancel my hotel reservation on Expedia?
