Charming hotel with perfect location
The hotel is quaint and charming. It is literally around the corner from the Porta Nigra, which is the entrance into the historic district of Trier.

A must stay
The stay was wonderful considering the world today with COVID. All of the appropriate measures were taken for social distancing. The breakfast was great, the room was comfortable and the staff were quite pleasant.

The staff are really friendly and helpful. When I am again in Trier, I will stay there again. The hotel is in a great location, very near the Porta Norge and the Hauptmarket.

This is Not a 4+ rating hotel.
The room was very dirty. There was long hair on one of our pillows and the bathroom was definitely not cleaned after the last quests left. There was hair in the sink, in the shower and on the bathroom floor. The positives were that the hotel staff were very pleasant, the location is good and the breakfast was fairly good.

Great short stopover in Trier
I selected this for its location, and it's perfect for walking to the Porte Nigra and the rest of the old city. The hotel itself was also a pleasant surprise, with clean comfortable rooms and a nice breakfast to send us on our way in the morning.

Everything is fine except the 5th floor where no elevator can be reached. It is not recommended the 5th floor if you have a heavy luggage.

Casa Chiara perfect spot to stay in Trier
We loved Casa Chiara. The location is perfect...right by Porta Nigra and a nice walk to the river. The staff is friendly and helpful. The gentleman at breakfast is attention and the breakfast plentiful. Highly recommend!

Captures the spirit of Trier !
Upon arriving ,engaging art on the walls draw one in .A spirit of art-filled liveliness and cheery simplicity characterize this place . Lovely stained glass windows in our room ,and the winding granite stairs are great accents . Our room was quiet ,dark ,excellent for sleeping, despite close proximity to the major attractions . Bedding was clean and comfortable .The complementary toiletries were quite sparse ,but that's not how we judge a hotel . The breakfast is superb and an excellent value....Wish we had a Casa Chiara in the USA !

Nice place to stay. A little street noise if you're at the front, but not too bad. Short walk/cycle from the station, but handy for the centre. Lovely relaxed breakfast.

Lovely boutique hotel close to all attractions
I loved this little hotel. We stayed at other small hotels while in Germany, and this one was the best of them all. There is parking behind the hotel for guests. We stayed in a triple room with my husband, me and our 16 year old. The room was small, but comfortable and clean. The bathroom was large by European standards. No AC in the hotel, but we stayed mid-August and had no problems with temp when we popped the windows open. No noise from the street below so we could get a decent night's sleep. Breakfast buffet was traditional German style and well run. The hotel is close to everything you want to see in Trier - Black Gate, churches, gardens and museums. All within walking distance and walking through a large, outdoor shopping area to get to them. Lots of restaurant choices close by too. We would definitely stay at Casa Chiara again.

Great location 1 block from the old city. Covered parking was a nice plus. Great breakfast, lovely service. Room was modest in terms of finishes but quiet, clean and spacious. Would return in a heartbeat!

Close to everything you would want to see in Tier
Outstanding location to see the sight of Tier. Hotel staff was excellent and made us feel right at home. Two minute walk to the city center and enjoyed the food. Highly recommend if you want a small town atmosphere with great shopping and neat sights.

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is conveniently located just minutes from the Porta Nigra and the entrance into the downtown Trier area. Our room was very clean, comfortable, and perfect for a weekend getaway trip. When we needed help finding an adapter for a camera charger, the man at the front desk took the time and tried his best to help us. I really appreciated it! The breakfast was nice and the gentleman in the morning was great - very quick to bring the coffee. If we ever travel to Trier again, we will choose this hotel for sure.

This was the epitome of a 3-star hotel. It's location is just on the outside of the city center, about a 5-minute walk to the Black Gate. The facilities were adequate for a place to bed-down ... no frills. Breakfast was simple and appropriately priced. However, I thought the room was slightly overpriced, but as a last-minute booking, I was willing to pay it to get a decent room.

Nice hotel in Trier
Had a good 2-night stay at this hotel. Very convenient to the Porta Nigra and town center/sights. Nice room (quiet); very friendly and helpful staff; excellent breakfast. Also has some basic gym facilities in the basement. Highly recommended.

Great hotel, BUT..
Great breakfast, eager to please staff and owner, hi-speed wireless but thin windows and a rough neighborhood make weekend stays pretty unpleasant. I would not stay here over the weekend unless you could contact the hotel and be sure you can get a room on the courtyard.

Good Hotel in Good Location
This was a very nice hotel in a good location near the Black Gate and city centre and not too far from the train station. Good room, bright and clean. Staff were helpful in recommending a restaurant and looking after our luggage on the day we checked out since our train was not until later. The only negative was that the windows in our "loft" room could not be fully covered by the curtains, which meant some lack of privacy and bright sunlight streaming in soon after the early dawn. But we had eye masks with us so not too big a problem.

Casa Chiara hotel
The hotel is in an ideal position for exploring the city, being only a couple of minutes walk from the Porta Nigra and a few minutes walk from the market square and cathedral. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was extremely good value for money. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for anyone interested exploring the old town.

Wonderful little hotel 5 minute walk to the Porta Nigra on a quiet side street - staff are excellent, warm and friendly. the "double" is more like a king in classic European style (2 large twins stuck together) but very comfortable. Rooms seem small, but everything in Treir/Treve is. Good breakfast, simple, but fresh with good coffee. Parking is tight but plenty of spaces. (the garage looks like an old wine cellar). Easy walk to the pedestrian district. I would recommend to friends and clients!

Convent to the old town - 2 min walk to the Black Gate. Clean, comfortable, friendly staff. OK breakfast. Plenty of parking underground in a converted wine cellar - a delightful challenge to navigate in anything larger than a SmartCar.

Gepflegtes Hotel in der unmittelbaren Nähe der Porta Nigra. Da es in einer Seitenstraße liegt, hört man vom Strassenlärm der Hauptstraße nichts. Nettes und hilfsbereites Personal. Kommen sehr gerne wieder.
