Older building but fully upgraded inside.

Posted 19-May-2016
I was concerned when I pulled into the hotel parking lot as you could tell this is a very old building. I was pleasantly surprised once I entered the lobby, it has been beautifully upgraded. My room a King Deluxe was nicely upgraded as well except for the shower/tub which if not on their list for upgrades should be. That being said, the room and bathroom were very clean and a nice size. I spent almost a week at the hotel and it was a very pleasant experience. The hotel bar and bistro are also fully renovated in a very nice modern décor. The bar staff are very friendly and accommodating. Check in and out was handled with efficiency by the front desk staff. I would say this hotel is a great option for the price point and location.

Well Located, Great Price, Greater Staff

Posted 5-May-2016
Pros: Amazing staff, great location
Cons: Still some renovating left to do - things like the balcony doors could use an update
Location: Right near the DVP, a Tim Horton's right nearby, easy access to downtown.
Right from our arrival, the staff were amazing. From the courteous grounds-keeper bidding us a good afternoon to the front desk attendant who was able to answer all of our questions, the staff is easily the highlight of our stay. The building looks like some work has been done fairly recently, modern colours and a wide open concept. While not the Taj Mahal, it was a great experience for a great price. When we had an issue with our room, the staff were willing to look into it right away and re-room us if required.

Big disapointment

Posted 3-May-2016
Pros: Location
Cons: Everything
Location: Close to great shopping and restaruants at the Shops at Don Mills. Easily accessed by TTC and easy to find from the 401.
We chose this hotel because of the location and amenities it offered. Upon arrival the lobby was beautiful; however, we waited 3 mins before anyone even came to the desk. After checkin, we wanted to drop our bags before heading downtown. Our room was on the 6th floor so we headed to the elevators where we waited at least 10 minutes before being told by a room attendant that 2 of the 3 elevators were down. When one finally arrived it was full with laundry carts and our party of 3 was unable to fit it. Annoyed, we headed to the stairs. Our room was ok at best. It looked as though it may have been updated slightly in the past year or so to hide old worn walls etc. There were 2 double beds in a room that easily could've accomodated 2 queen size. The was a desk with a chair and lamp, and then a dining style chair in the corner where a small sofa/loveseat would've easily fit.. A lot of empty space in this room. We were right beside a stairwell door that we thought was convenient until someone used it repeately every 30 minutes in night. The bathroom was pathetic! Clean, but the tub was very worn as well at the tile. The counter had a burn mark on it and the ceiling was so low that when I raised my hand to stretch I hit the ceiling. The indoor pool was a feature we were keen to use as we were travelling with our 10 year old son. When we got down to the pool it was closed for cleaning. I cannot comment on the food as we chose to eat outside of the hotel.

Old out dated room

Room expensive for the quality. Also had a parking charge over and above the room rate
