Clayoquot Surf Retreat

We have previously been under a different management and therefor do not have reviews on this website here yet but previously we were a super host with and average of 4.95.

This custom West Coast timber frame home is peacefully set in old growth forest on the shores of Clayoquot Sound's Jensen Bay. Enjoy the tranquility and sounds of the surrounding natural wonderment. Situated an easy 15min walk, 5 min bike ride or 2 min walk to world renowned Chesterman's Beach and Cox Bay. Conveniently located in the UNESCO biosphere and next to the Pacific Rim National Park in a nature's bird sanctuary. Enjoy your days surfing, beachcombing, hiking or just enjoying the peace and quiet of this beautiful property. The Clayoquot Surf Retreat offers adventure, simplicity, relaxing, all while enjoying this stunning home and beautiful original artwork from local artists. Cozy up to the wood burning fireplace with a great book and a glass of wine or enjoy star gazing from the hot tub or outdoor fire pit. Cook up a gourmet meal or perhaps spoil yourself and have a professional chef come in and prepare you a scrumptious west coast dinner. Finish your day with a long soak in one of the soaker tubs then a peaceful sleep in one of our hotel quality beds.

Master bedroom ensuite with king bed, newly built covered balcony over looking the tidal flats; hardwood floors, master closet, dresser, heated slate tile with oversize soaker tub, large double headed slated shower.

Second and Third bedrooms have a queen bed, closet, dresser, view of the wilderness reserve, hard wood floors.

The property was easy to get to and beautiful upon arrival. It was clean, spacious, and had all the bells and whistles. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. However, we do want to acknowledge that there was an invasion of our privacy and security due to a scheduling mishap where the next guests arrived during our stay; so the accommodation was double booked. They were able to gain access using the same passcode given to us, which is how they entered the house. While we understand that mistakes happen, we addressed our concerns with the host, and their response was not to our satisfaction. Our request to have the access code changed was disregarded even after we had expressed that we did not feel comfortable knowing that someone out there had the same passcode to enter. The hosts did provide a form of compensation which we appreciated. We do hope that in the future, the hosts take guests privacy and security more seriously, and hope they change the passcode after every stay.

The most amazing house
The listing didn't do the house justice. Without a doubt the loveliest house we have rented. It was immaculately clean, spacious, exceptionally well equipped and very comfortable. The location was perfect for surfing at Cox's bay and Chestermans. Amazing rental.

Great Spot!
The house is nestled in the trees where you can watch the tide come and go from the inlet. We saw a black bear cub walk across the mud flats into the woods. The main living area and kitchen is wide open and huge with lots of seating areas where everyone can visit without being on top of each other. The master bedroom and bathroom is very large and feels like you’re up in the trees. The other bedrooms and bathroom is also very comfortable. It’s a short walk to Chesterman Beach along the walking and bike path and across the road to the beach access. We walked the beach to the Point Restaurant. After a day on the beach it was great to soak in the hot tub and relax. We really enjoyed our stay!

Fabulous Getaway & Incredible Experience!
Simon and Jill have created an amazing space for their guests. From the beautifully equipped chef's kitchen to the impeccably clean living spaces and the perfect outdoor oasis. It's truly the perfect location for any getaway. Our girls weekend away turned out to be the most relaxing and enjoyable vacation. Our well-travelled group couldn't stop raving about our accommodations and the incredible attention to detail that went into every aspect of our stay. Dream Spot
We stayed for five nights at this luxury home. It's better than the photos and writeup - from the high ceilings and warm wood to the cozy fireplace and dreamy two-person rainfall shower in the master bath. The kitchen has lovely appliances and there are high end touches everywhere. Pristine hottub and professional management. Worth every penny and more. Perfect hosts and gorgeous location. Can't wait to come back.

We loved our stay at the Clayoquot Surf Retreat! Beautiful clean space, bigger than we thought it was going to be! Loved the huge bathtubs in both bathrooms upstairs, huge shower in the master, massive kitchen with industrial appliances and the hot tub. Location is wonderful, so close to chesterman beach and tacofino! Would definitely stay here again!

Second time, but not our last!
This was our second time visiting Clayoquot Surf Retreat, but it certainly won't be our last. The home is so peaceful and calm, and the owners have worked so hard to create a multitude of beautiful, quiet corners to enjoy the spectacular property. I'll also note that two years later, it is still one of the best-equipped vacation rental kitchens I've ever encountered. The new management is exceptional, and beyond kind and quick to respond. Booking Clayoquot Surf Retreat is a quick way to a vacation into a retreat. Enjoy!

Perfect spot. Gorgeous, home and property, quiet neighbourhood where you can hear the ocean. Stones throw to cox or chestermans, 5 minute drive to town. Everything you need, absolute dream of a kitchen to cook in. Perfectly comfortable in every way. Would love to come back.
