Tiahura Beach is a palm-dotted stretch of sandy beach fronting the western edge of Tiahura commune. With its gorgeous lagoon views, soft sands and leafy coconut palms, Tiahura Beach captures Moorea’s magnificent appeal. Take advantage of the beach’s long jetty and peer into the tropical waters or join a snorkeling or scuba-diving tour. Spend some time strolling along Tiahura Beach’s sandy expanse. Lush tropical vegetation crowds its eastern border, while the long jetty stretches out from the west. Find a shady spot beneath a palm tree or pick somewhere to soak up the sunshine. The beach looks out to Moorea’s tranquil lagoon and the narrow channel that skirts the island. Watch yachts and motorboats cruising in the sapphire waters and coming in to moor at the beach’s jetty. Swim in the gentle waters and look back at the commune and its pretty thatched-roof houses and swaying trees. Several operators run snorkeling and scuba-diving tours in the lagoon and the nearby Motu Tiahura. This small islet is a lush oasis with some fantastic snorkeling areas and a restaurant. Go on a guided dive to see black-tipped reef sharks and stingrays swimming gracefully through the clear waters or spot schools of colorful tropical fish. You can also rent a kayak and go on a self-guided tour of the pristine waters and look down at the coral gardens below. Join a sightseeing boat tour and learn about the island’s stunning landscape with your guide. Some tours include feeding sessions with the local wildlife. There is a small collection of restaurants and hotels located on the streets behind the beach. Find a table at a restaurant or bring a picnic of fresh tropical fruit to enjoy in the shade. Tiahura Beach is located on the northwestern coast of the heart-shaped island. It is a 30-minute drive from Moorea’s largest commune, Pao Pao. (209 reviews) Cook’s Bay is one of the most wonderful places we’ve ever stayed, and we’ve stayed at many fantastic places around the world. The staff was amazingly nice. The rooms were spotless. The beds were very comfortable. The air-conditioning worked. The showers were hot. The towels were first class. Most important for us was the amazing snorkeling right off the edge of the property and the amazing views of the beautiful mountains of Moorea. We saw sharks, turtles and rays along the beautiful coral reef that drops down like a cliff just off the water’s edge. The water was unbelievably clear and blue. The swimming pool was perfect. My only hesitation in writing this review is that it will encourage more people to go there when I would love for this to remain a secret. The manager was involved with numerous dissatisfied guests but after check in the stay was wonderful. The pool, the view from our room and anywhere on the property is amazing. Great place to relax before flying out on late flight. (928 reviews) The resort was stunning. Fabulous location and views. Our room was clean, and suitable for staying a few nights. Limited drawers, hangers. Food was EXPENSIVE and we do not feel it was good value for the money. Service was inconsistent... depending on the wait staff. Overall the staff was very friendly spoke English and very accomodating. Would rate this higher if the food was priced better, meaning I think $75.00 CA per person Monday to Saturday and $105\. pp on Sunday buffet. If you want to eat alacarte you need to order room service or grab something premade at a counter. Room service 3 egg omlette with toast + pancakes with a fruit sald + 2 coffee was $85\. CA. Yes, hot, and came very quickly, but add 17 for delivery and tip and it adds up pretty quick.
