It’s truly a hidden gem—emphasis on hidden! Just be prepared: the property is set about 2.5 miles down a very rough gravel road. We were in a Honda Accord, and let’s just say… it was not a match made in heaven. If you’re planning a visit, I highly recommend driving something with a little more grit—like a 4WD or a vehicle better suited for rocky terrain.That said, once we arrived, we found it to be quiet, serene, and a lovely little getaway. The AC worked great (which is a big win in the desert!), and the rustic stone shower added a unique charm—just make sure to give the cold water dial a firm turn unless you want a surprise sauna experience like I had! The bathroom sink was slow to drain, but thankfully there was Draino under the sink—points for being prepared, host!We came for a quick anniversary overnight with hopes of stargazing, but the clouds had other plans. Not a single star in sight—but we still soaked in the magic of the area. It was our first time in Big Bend/Terlingua, and now we’re hooked. This trip was a tease, and we’ll definitely be back for more! The front porch was great to sit on and the back had a gorgeous view. It was not convenient to get food (or anything else for that matter) but this was made clear ahead of time so we went prepared. It was dustier than we expected. The Freight Office - #15 - should not be rented out until you can get rid of rhe sewer smell. We left a day early because of it.
