We booked this property because it looked very attractive on the Expedia website. However, during the booking process, there was no mention of the $1500 security deposit. It only showed up once the charge card was charged for the rental itself plus that fee — showing up on the charge card with two separate charges. Had we known about this charge, we would’ve never committed to the reservation.
We had also purchased cancellation insurance, and was very frustrated with how this all was handled.
The property itself was nice, however, the lights in the kitchen area did not work at all, and the directions for the use of the television set were not clear enough to provide someone who did not already have accounts with programs other than standard television to use the television properly.
The paperwork left for renters also is obviously outdated since it said there was a curling iron and other items listed on the “notes” papers — that the property that did not have. In addition, the number of towels, etc., did not match the number of towels that was actually in the closet upon check-in. While it is not the owner’s fault, the elevator had to be serviced and was not properly marked with directions for using the stairs. A set of stairs was also not available and signs were not posted. We are senior citizens and mobility issues are something senior citizens deal with so this was not at all user-friendly. The pool area was nice and the snack bar was well stocked.
