The best time to visit Taqah is during the Khareef season, from late June to early September, or in the cooler, drier months between October and April. The Khareef season is unique to the Dhofar region, transforming the typically arid landscape into a lush, green paradise due to the monsoon rains. While it brings cooler temperatures and a refreshing mist, it also means some outdoor activities might be affected by the weather, and the sea can be rough for swimming. This period is particularly good for those who appreciate natural beauty and enjoy seeing waterfalls and wadis at their fullest. For those preferring sunshine and calm seas, the months from October to April offer pleasant temperatures, typically ranging from the mid-20s to low-30s Celsius. This is ideal for exploring Taqah's historical sites, like Taqah Castle, and enjoying the beaches and watersports.
