This one-bedroom retreat was a true labor of love — a project I started with dreams of retiring here one day. After four years of hands-on building and design, it’s become a perfect blend of comfort, craftsmanship, and Alaskan charm.

Inside, you’ll find a spacious bedroom with a king-size bed, a comfortable sofa sleeper for two, and all the comforts of home — including a full kitchen, laundry, and fast Wi-Fi. Whether you’re here for a weekend getaway or a weeklong adventure, you’ll have everything you need to relax and unwind.

The Marlin House is just as described online. The king bed was very comfy (and I'm a bit of a bed snob) and the house was perfect for our one night stay. It's not fancy, but it's clean and comfortable. Just what I was looking for!

Relaxing Stay

Perfect spot to relax for a few days! The house was clean and equipped with everything needed to be comfortable. The neighborhood is very quiet but within walking distance to downtown. Appreciated all the extra amenities!! Highly recommend staying here while exploring Talkeetna.

Great cozy cabin in Talkeetna!

During our 9-day stay in Alaska, this was our favorite place we stayed. The cabin was super cozy, quiet, well appointed, with a super king bed. Best of all, a nice living area where we could stretch out and relax. Big TV, dining table and really nice kitchen. Best of all, the pillows were great and not like the flat pancake ones in hotel rooms. We would stay here again for sure!

Jared’s immaculate and comfortable home was the perfect stopping point for us on our way to Denali. His house was easy to find. Didn’t have time to explore Talkeetna but looks fun.

We had lots of room and we were close to town but in a quiet place without train or plane noise. The washer and dryer were handy, and the host provided much-appreciated extra service in getting an item back to us that we left. My Keurig-dependent wife struggled a bit to remember how to make coffee the old-fashioned way, but otherwise we had everything we needed. 5 stars.

Quiet Retreat

This rental was just what we needed, a quiet, comfortable, clean stay in Talkeetna. Convenient to nearby amenities. It's a bit of a drive as a stop before Denali, we got up very early to drive up, so something to keep in mind. The town is quaint, with a great view of the Alaska Mountain Range. I would definitely recommend this rental. The only thing really missing was that I did not find specific check-out instructions, like trash disposal, etc. unless I missed it. Great property, great location!!

Clean, cute, great location!

Only stayed for one night, but would stay again in a heartbeat. Unit was clean, new, beautiful! Enough space for four people, easy. Bathroom was large. Bedroom has a king bed. Couch has a pull out bed and so does the ottoman. That was a nice touch as two of the guests could sleep separately. It was only a 15-20 minute walk to downtown Talkeetna (we're slow walkers!). One of my friend's left her make up bag at the unit. The owner promptly contacted me to try to arrange to get it back which I thought was above and beyond. Overall, would stay here again!!

We stayed here July 21-23, 2025. It was perfect for us. Very very clean and comfortable. We had a rental vehicle so we drove to the main area of town for shopping, eating etc but walking there is do-able also. We would definitely stay here again!

The Marlin Cabin was perfect. Spacious, comfortable and had everything we could need. A wonderful, extremely comfortable king bed in a single bedroom. Windows everywhere with good blackout shades. And so, so quiet. We loved it.
