Our two night stay was amazing. The views were awesome, the home was lovely, and all of the amenities were well thought out. We highly recommend this property.
This is the perfect rustic setting for an Alaskan adventure! Loved the beautiful river setting with Denali in the background! Talkeetna is a quaint little town with several dining options and little shops to explore! We would definitely recommend Eye of Denali for your next stay!
Lovely location and views. We had clear skies and pristine views of Denali. The house is comfortable and well appointed, within easy walking distance to town. Trains and sightseeing planes were the only downsides.
Lovely cabin a short distance from Talkeetna. Great views of the river and Denali from the backyard. Everything was clean and organized and set up for us.
Perfect place and location for our vacation stay at Talkeetna. Loved the character and the views out the big windows. Only suggestion we would have is to upgrade the dryer. It took an overly long time to dry clothes which is a waste of your electric bill. We visited K2 Aviation for a flightseeing tour, Mahays jet boat, atv tour, shopping and who can forget all the great food!
From the moment we arrived, the Eye Of Denali captured my heart! The cabin was awesome, very clean. The river views from inside and outside were spectacular. Very convenient to TALKEETNA. Don’t miss staying here.
Beautiful, welcoming property on the river. Many personal touches throughout the home and very clean. Easy going environment to restore and rejuvenate in.
This cabin was perfect for just four persons and plenty of rm for more. Very clean and had big windows to the river next to it. The location is perfect for any excursions you would like to take. It had all of the amenties one could ask for. Highly recommend!!
The property was great and the location is amazing. Right on the river and you feel like it is your own private part of the forest. House had plenty of room for all of us.
It was a very cute place with a beautiful view in back yard. It was a little weird having the caretaker always around and choosing to close back steps to paint while we were there.
Hosts were fantastic to work with on anything. Kind to check in. The train that others mention didn't bother my family of 6 in the slightest. It was daylight longer and we were awake. Loved all of the history within the walls of the home. So amazing to as the accomplishments!
We stayed one night at Eye of Denali. We were a family of 9 (7 adults and 2 children). All of us absolutely loved this home. The home was cozy, it was tastefully decorated, beds were comfortable, kitchen well stocked. We greatly appreciated the Welcome Book which had all the information that we needed to enjoy our stay. It was obvious that this home is well cared for and that the owners wanted renters to have a wonderful stay. We enjoyed the hammock, bicycles, sitting by the river, checking for Denali, and the close proximity to town. This was by far our favorite VRBO on our land tour. We highly recommend this home as a vacation stop.
Eye of Denali did not disappoint- we saw Denali perfectly on the 2 bright sunny days that we stayed! An added bonus. The river was amazing.
The cabin was beautiful and immaculate. Definitely a true Alaskan cabin experience. It was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay, conveniently located to town and any excursion you might participate in like the K2 Aviation glacier landing flight(must do!) and the Phantom Charter finishing trip. You can walk, bike or drive to town for souvenir shopping, Fireweed ice cream at Shirley’s, or a visit to see the Mayor (a cat named Aurora) at Nagley’s! Lattitude 62 has great food, especially the corned beef sandwich.
The owners of the cabin were very easy to communicate with and replied to any questions we had immediately- they even accommodated an early check-in. One of the best parts about the cabin was no TV so you can be in the moment! The cabin was filled with such interesting history, fun games, interesting books, and the best Oosik poem- you have to go to read it. We even met the part time renter who lives below, and he was very friendly and helpful with advice for our next adventure. Part of the beauty of traveling is meeting new people. We will definitely recommend this cabin to anyone that will be traveling to Talkeetna. Thank you to the wonderful hosts- we thoroughly enjoyed our experience.
Comfortable, inviting and eclectic cabin in the most beautiful of locations, right on the Susitna River. Easy to find. Very convenient to town, but with a feeling of being just a touch remote. We hit the weather jackpot and had amazing views of Denali every single day! The 3 bedrooms upstairs are very adequate and comfy with awesome views. It was necessary for us to leave the bedroom doors open at night, for the heat rising from downstairs. An extra blanket or two would have been helpful, but we were prepared with layers of clothing. And this is AK after all...so not complaining, just informing! One bathroom is upstairs & one downstairs with nice towels and bathing amenities provided. The kitchen is great with all the necessary needs; silverware, plates, pans, mugs etc... We would have loved an outdoor grill (gas), as we made most of our meals at the cabin. There isn't an indoor fireplace, nor an outdoor firepit which maybe isn't allowed due to fire restrictions, but sure would have been a bonus. Again, all informational. Being from Colorado, I'm sure there is a safety reason for no open fires. I find this to be a very hard property to review, as it was exactly as I expected, and perfect for our needs. However, if you have the romanticized "movie picture perfect" cabin expectation, you will be disappointed. If you want an "Alaskan cabin in the woods" experience, surrounded by nature's beauty, this is the place! We'd definitely stay again. Self-check-in was perfect.
