The AC in the lobby and the rooms didn’t work which is unbelievable for a so called 5 star hotel. The lobby and hallway are extremely hot. The room stays warm over night. That’s really hard to deal with in Taichung’s weather. The hotel is in a great location, close to shopping and restaurants. It's also a short walk to the botanical gardens. Our room was very clean. It's an older hotel so a bit shabby in places. Scuff marks on the walls for example. Also the beds are very hard, but I was told this is typical in that area. However, the route planned for check-in, in my opinion, is quite frustrating and annoying. The concierge is divided two part. One is on ground floor and the other one is on 12th floor.
