"I reserved a non-smoking room & the one I was given smelled of smoke. There were other motel residents outside my door smoking on the balcony/walkway. Does the motel serve as temporary housing for a transitional population? Most of the room was clean, but the inside of the bathroom door had a bloodstain on it. Luckily I paid the hotel directly & they gave me an immediate refund when I checked out a day early (spent a lot of time chatting with Expedia’s help to arrange the early checkout - thank you.) The woman behind the desk was helpful. I chose this place because it was rated 7.2 on Expedia. I would say it’s a 2/10, given the smoky room, the smokers outside on the property, and the bloodstain on the bathroom door. A shame, because it’s conveniently located & looked nice on the outside."

"I booked a room here for one night all I need was a place to stay after a show but I didn’t even stay the night after seeing the conditions of the hotel. My room was on the 5th floor. There was mold on the bathroom ceiling. The room air conditioner smelt like mold and full of dust/dirt. The box spring didn’t even have a bed skirt on it and it had blood stains on it. We were on the elevator on the way down to the lobby and the elevator stopped on the 3rd floor when the doors opened all we saw was cement walls with mouse traps everywhere. And the parking lot outside had rats jumping out of it. DO NOT STAY HERE."

"The property looked nothing like the images. We showed up and my wife and kids were actually legitimately afraid to stay there when we contacted Hotels.com we were told the property would refund one of our two nights after we left to find another place to stay. They did not."

"The reason for my poor review is that my daughter left her iPods in the room, and we soon discovered through FindMy that they were taken to a nearby address in Hartford. They were never removed from the room by us, so they were certainly removed by someone at the hotel. I reported this via phone to staff members, who assured I’d be called back, and I wasn’t. Then I tried sending a message through their website and got no response. I am really disappointed by this level of customer service in what otherwise seemed to be a nice hotel. It’s shocking to me that no one would even follow up, even if just to apologize."

"I spent one night at WoodSpring Suites, Newington, on a business trip. This is a new property and the room was clean. The elevator and hall smelled odd. The hallway could have been a cooking smell, but the elevator was something else, and quite unpleasant. The room strongly smelled of a disinfectant when I arrived. That dissipated overnight. If strong odors both you, this is not a good choice. (I am not that sensitive to odors, so I was able to tolerate the room.) If you like to run, bike or walk, there is a nice path less than a half block away, which parallels the high speed bus route to Hartford, with a high protective fence. I enjoyed my run."
