The best area to stay in Strugas is the central area around Piazza del Comune, particularly for those seeking convenience and access to local life.

This area is the heart of Strugas, where you'll find the main square, Piazza del Comune, surrounded by historic buildings and local businesses. It's very walkable, with narrow streets leading to various shops, cafes, and restaurants. The town's main church, Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista, is also located here, adding to the historic feel.

Couples looking for a relaxing and authentic Italian experience will appreciate this area. You'll be able to enjoy leisurely strolls, dine at traditional Sardinian restaurants, and easily access local markets. The evening passeggiata (evening stroll) is a common activity here, offering a pleasant way to unwind after a day of exploring.

For families, staying slightly outside the immediate town centre, but still within a short walk, can offer more space and quieter surroundings. Many villas and guesthouses in the residential streets just off the main piazza provide gardens or larger accommodations, ideal for those travelling with children.

The best time to visit Strugas is during the shoulder seasons, specifically from May to June or September to October, to enjoy pleasant weather without the peak summer crowds.

During these months, the weather is warm and sunny, with average temperatures ranging from 20°C to 28°C, making it ideal for exploring the beaches and outdoor activities. You'll find that the main attractions and restaurants are fully open, but the towns are less crowded than in July and August. This allows for a more relaxed experience, whether you're lounging on the white sands of La Pelosa Beach or exploring the ancient ruins of Nuraghe di Palmavera.

Couples often find these periods superb for a romantic getaway. The quieter beaches offer more intimacy, and it's easier to secure reservations at popular restaurants. You can enjoy long walks along the coastline, visit local vineyards, or take a boat trip to the Maddalena Archipelago without the hustle and bustle of peak season.

Families travelling with younger children also benefit from the shoulder seasons. The milder temperatures are more comfortable for little ones, and the reduced crowds make it easier to navigate popular spots like the Neptune's Grotto or the family-friendly beaches around Alghero.
