« This place was clean and comfortable with a nice breakfast. However, we booked it as a hotel with a bar and restaurant, which had ceased to operate by the time we got there. This is an issue in a fairly remote location with no other dining options. We were hiking, and the nearest place was almost 2 miles away. It needs to rebrand as a bed and breakfast. Although the staff were lovely, reception was usually closed with a phone number to call.This was the second time this has happened on our trip...

« This is a friendly place with clean pleasant rooms and a nice breakfast. However, it isn’t really a hotel, more a pub offering bed and breakfast. When I booked it advertised a restaurant, but this had closed down by the time we arrived, and we had to book dinner in a sister hotel nearby. Not a big issue, but as there are only two restaurants in town you have to book early. We found here that like many places in Orkney there seems to be a serious staff shortage.
