Previous guest may have been a Bigfoot
Discovered a lot of human hair, on everything. We had to wash the sheets and pillowcases on arrival. Pretty disappointed that we were expected to drive our own trash into town after our stay. We saw the cleaning crew arrive after our check out and they spent no more than 45 minutes at the place. The property management company texted us about 10 separate time before, during, and after our stay. Pretty excessive. Good location & and the place is cute. But would have been much cheaper and probably a better experience to stay at a hotel.

Great place and Great Location
It was a perfect place eventhough our trip was effected by a monumental winter storm. I cannot imagine being forced to stay inside on vacation pleasant place.

2nd Time we used this location
This place is perfect for my boys and me to go have a fun weekend getaway. We love the house as it's plenty of room for us and has everything we need. The one item you need to think about it that the driveway is not very accommodating if you have snow. We had a 4 wheel drive vehicle but we had issues getting in and out due to the snow drifts. We had to spend time shoveling in the am and then when we returned do it again. It's not due to new snow, it's due to wind and drifts. Hopefully they can come up with a solution to this.

Cute little cabin
I was so afraid that the cabin would not be as cute as the pictures, but it looked just like the pictures. The kids loves the loft and we loved the separate downstairs bedroom. My kids had a blast playing checkers all weekend! The people of South Fork are so friendly and we will definitely be back! Thank you for helping to make our vacation a memorable one!!

We loved the cabin especially being a fan of Lonesome Dove. It was nice and cozy, clean,& well stocked. The only thing that was a bit bothersome/worrisome was the foot traffic through the yard crossing through by strangers. Other than that, I would highly recommend Return To Lonesome Dove cabin. We will be back. The staff was very helpful and prompt with response to questions. Great place.❤️🏔

Special place
All positive! Lovely rustic cabin in a great town and location. Only note to potential renters: this is on a major highway, and its “curb appeal” is low — until you get into the cabin which is cute, comfortable and very livable. Special compliments to the wonderful and helpful property manager—and her husband who was great helping us!

This cabin is absolutely perfect! Just beautiful. The inside is very cozy and welcoming. We could not believe how charming it is decorated. The owners have thought of everything you will need to make your stay comfortable. The location is perfect. We really enjoyed the firepit as well. We will definitely stay again! Great Cabin getaway.
The cabin was a wonderful little place in South Fork. The location was great. The only thing we would have changed is that it is very close to the highway. However, the road quiets down at night and this did not negatively impact our stay. Diana was great and quickly responses to any questions we had and also suggested activities in the area for our four year old. We had an issue with the coffee maker and we had a brand new one waiting for us immediately. I would definitely recommend this cabin to others and hope to go back after the Pandemic and experience some of the activities that were closed this time.

Awesome cabin!!!
Diana was great to work with. The cabin was beautifully decorated and very clean. The only thing we wish was that the cabin was further off the highway. Sitting outside by the fire pit was a bit noisy because of the highway. We knew this when booking though.

Very nice vacation cabin
The overall experience was very smooth. The cabin was fully equipped and makes you feel at home while you stay. South Fork is a nice town and very close to a lot of activities in and around the San Luis Valley. I would recommend this cabin.

Convenient location and well stocked cabin
My family and I enjoyed this well stocked cabin for a week during the summer of COVID. The cabin is very clean, has all the amenities of a home, everything you need to cook meals and entertain the family. The property owner was easy to get in touch with when we had questions. We enjoyed sitting outside watching the wildlife and the location is convenient to a variety of activities.

Great ski cabin!
Overall, this cabin is everything you could want in a ski cabin within 20 minutes of the slopes at Wolf Creek. Very stylish and comfortable with all the amenities. The property manager was great, giving us text reminders of how to fulfill all the terms of the rental agreement without being too intrusive.

Great Little Cabin!
We throughly enjoyed Goodnight Cabin! Loved the decor. Clean, comfortable, quiet, perfect location. They even cleared the snow on the drive and in front of cabin. It had everything we needed. Well Stocked. Property manager Diana was awesome! She even turned on the heat and lights since we were arriving after dark. The only thing wrong....we didn’t stay long enough! We will be back. Lovely remodeled cabin which is tastefully decorated that is just large enough but cozy. Secluded but not too secluded...centrally located in Southfork. Cabin was clean with comfortable bed and linens....and best of all...had a washer and dryer...in case your stay is an extended stay like mine. Host very friendly and check in and check out easy.

A Perfect Place

Comfortable basecamp for Southern Colorado adventures!
Cute cabin, furnished comfortably and stylishly. King bed downstairs is really comfy! This was a great basecamp for adventuring around the Southern San Juans. Property manager is super responsive and very helpful.

Wonderful home, decorated beautifully. I am handicaped and too short to get in the bed down stairs, however, We picked up a blow up and stayed. Loved the vibe and would like to stay longer next time. Private and peaceful.

Mother's Day Weekend Gem
This was such a sweet gem of a place we found for our family of four for Mother's Day weekend. This was perfect for what we needed. The property manager is very attentive and helpful. The atmosphere is charming and relaxing. We rolled in later in the evening and it was a pleasant surprise that there was a Mexican Restaurant located within walking distance. It is called Ramons Mexican Restaurant. The service was great and food was good. We enjoyed our time there and wish we could have stayed longer!

The cabin was so cute and cozy for our family of 4!
The cabin, it's space, decor, supplies and location were perfect for our family of 4 Spring Break ski trip! The inside looked like it was designed, built and decorated by Chip and Joanna Gaines. 😀. The kitchen supplies were perfect and the washer and dryer was great to clean our clothes at the end of a busy day skiing. Wifi was great. Our favorite part was the gas fireplace and had we not been so busy the outside fire pit! This is a great little cabin for a small family to relax and enjoy South Fork and Wolf Creek!

This property had everything anything named “Lonesome Dove” should have!
First of all, the exterior melted seamlessly into the surrounding cliffs. Upon crossing the threshold, I noticed the smell- or lack of it! Perfectly neutral: no cloying, camouflaging spray covering whatever the cleaning missed! From the aluminum, washtub-sink and tub enclosure in the bathroom to warm, golden track lighting in the kitchen, every attention has been given to style, comfort and coziness. Lonesome Dove is the best place I’ve ever stayed! Well done!

This place was the perfect family getaway for our ski trip to Wolf Creek ski area!! This adorable cabin was so nice and decorated in such a fun rustic cowboy manner. Everything was new and extremely clean and organized. Our 3 young kiddos loved having thier own loft and playroom to sleep in! The kitchen was beautiful and fully stocked with everything you needed including coffee, tea, paper products, dish soap, hand soap, and garbage bags. We have rented from VRBO and had to go to the store upon getting to our destination to purchase these types of things so this was very nice that all of this is provided. The shower even has a dispenser with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The cabin was cozy and comfortable. There were board games, cards and movies included. The location was close to everything you needed and we loved that it was only 20 minutes to the ski area! I would highly recommend this cabin!! No detail is left undone!
