"Hello, What we liked the most at this hotel was the staff. Namely, a wonderful lady by the name Veronica. She demonstrated great competence, professionalism, and commitment to take care of us as guests. Her interpersonal skills were outstanding and her strong ability to be patient and address our concerns were fantastic. Veronica definitely made us want to come to this hotel in the future. Many thanks Veronica and Ibis Staff. Hb"

8/10 Good

"We had a wonderful week in La Romieu and thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. The location is beautiful: peaceful, full of character and surrounded by stunning countryside. La Romieu and nearby places such as Condom are well worth exploring. The property is fantastic for a large group. There were 28 of us and we made some brilliant memories here. The pool, outdoor space and setting make it a very special place. There are some areas for improvement. Our main concern was damaged tiles around the pool, which we discussed with the owner and were told would be repaired. Some sun loungers would also be a welcome addition. There were a few minor maintenance issues, but nothing that spoiled our holiday. Our main disappointment came after leaving. We received upsetting messages about cleaning and were initially told we had not paid the 280 cleaning fee. Our receipt confirmed we had, which the owner later acknowledged. We accept guests should leave a property respectfully and genuinely believed we had done so. With 28 people staying for a week, a few minor things may have been overlooked, but clearer departure instructions would have avoided much of the misunderstanding. To her credit, the owner acknowledged communication could have been clearer. Also check bedding and towel arrangements before travelling, as these cost extra.Overall, a beautiful property in a wonderful part of France. With improved communication and some maintenance, this would have been a 10/10 stay."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Sistels?

The best area to stay in Sistels is within the heart of the village itself, or in the immediate surrounding countryside.

The village centre of Sistels is small and focused around its historic church and main square. You'll find a few local amenities here, offering a quiet, authentic French village experience. This area is great for couples seeking a peaceful retreat, away from the hustle and bustle, where they can enjoy leisurely strolls and the local pace of life.

For those looking for a bit more space and seclusion, the countryside immediately surrounding Sistels offers beautiful gîtes and holiday homes. These properties often come with private gardens and pools, providing an excellent base for families.

When is the best time to go to Sistels?

While Sistels is a charming destination year-round, the best time to visit for most travellers is during the late spring (May-June) and early autumn (September-October) months.

You'll find the vineyards and sunflower fields at their most picturesque, superb for those scenic drives and photo opportunities.

For couples looking for a romantic getaway, these shoulder seasons offer a more relaxed experience with fewer crowds at local markets and restaurants. You can enjoy long, leisurely meals on terraces and explore the historic villages and châteaux at your own pace.

Families travelling with children might also appreciate the milder temperatures for activities like cycling along the canal or visiting local farms without the peak summer rush.
