The south shore is one of the most beautiful and relaxing areas in the region. Only a short distance from the city (Halifax) you'll be able to enjoy some of our best beaches, scenic drives and plenty of lighthouses as you explore this section of Nova Scotia. You can also just relax by the lake; we certainly would blame you.

The cottage sits lakeside, and you're invited to enjoy the view from the back deck!
Unfortunately, the lake does not allow power equipment, but if you'd like to bring your kayak or canoe, you're more than welcome!
This lovely rustic cabin is nestled down a quiet lane (a minute from the main road) and alongside Simms Lake in Chester County (Lily Pad Cottage is named for the hundreds of lilypads that fill the lake each spring).
This quaint one-bedroom cabin has been fitted with modern utilities to ensure you can comfortably enjoy your stay.
The rental includes a kitchen, bathroom, living room and bedroom.
The living room has a large sectional couch (pretty comfortable for sleeping if you're interested) and a TV with plenty of streaming services (or you're welcome to securely use your own)
In the Kitchen, you'll find essential cookware and appliances as well as a kitchen table, free Kcup coffee, tea and specialty drinks and even a view out onto the lake so that you can stand there drinking your coffee and staring off pensively like a suburban dad on a Saturday morning. Unfortunately, the kitchen also has a low 6ft ceiling that some taller folks may find a bit annoying at times.
The bright, cozy bedroom offers a queen bed and plenty of closet space (as well as extra linens if you find yourself in need).
Our commitment to an enhanced cleaning protocol means we follow a rigorous sanitizing program in advance of the arrival of each guest. In addition to our commitment prior to your visit, you’ll find cleaning supplies on hand for your use during your stay.
This is a more rural part of Nova Scotia and as a result, transit in this area is very limited. We recommend having your own vehicle if you plan to explore.
This rustic cabin is fitted with modern amenities but has some unique quirks and charm that help ensure your "country cottage escape" is relaxed and memorable. Our favourite spot in this rental is, undoubtedly, at the edge of the lake, under a blanket of beautiful stars.

The neighbours are very friendly and polite, but will also give you your privacy. There is one room inside the cottage that is locked. This is a storage room belonging to the owner; we ask that you please not attempt to open this door or tamper with the lock. Unfortunately, the bathroom sink does not have hot water, but you will find plenty of hot water throughout the rest of the cottage. The bathroom also does not have a power supply, but you are welcome to plug in devices in other areas of the cottage.

There is a giant monster that lives in the utility shed out back (I'm kidding, I just wanted to see if you were still reading).
