Gorgeous and memorable!
My partner and I wanted a great escape for the weekend, and we definitely got what we were looking for. The cabin was remote, high above the hills, and just beautiful. We spent a few days there and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Definitely would recommend this lovely spot for anyone looking for a little weekend retreat!

Cozy mountain getaway
Romantic weekend trip up north. Cozy fireplace, comfy beds, well equipped. Our only problem was that it snowed after we arrived and we were stranded for a day without a 4 wheel drive car. We found things to do in the cabin and had a wonderful time nevertheless. Thank you!

Cozy home base, beautiful view
A perfectly situated home away from home for a north shore getaway. Easy drives to plenty of different places to explore, accommodating and comfortable setup, and a gorgeous view to enjoy. The craftsmanship of the cabin itself was also incredible. It met our family's needs perfectly - the kids have already let us know they want to come to this exact cabin again. This is a remote cabin with an incredible view of the surrounding nature/Lake Superior. Great place to stay, with lots of hiking and sight seeing close by. We will be back!!

Do not look any further, book this house!
This is a beautiful log home with a fantastic view of Lake Superior and the Apostle Islands in the distance. The home was very comfortable and had everything we needed from nice cookware to extra blankets and pillows. We did not spend much time on the deck or in the enclosed porch simply because of the cooler weather, but in the warmer months one could spend hours out there reading & relaxing. The house is close to Tettagouche, Split Rock and Gooseberry Falls State Parks and Illgen Falls is just down the hill. This is one of the most comfortable VRBO homes we have stayed in. Thank you Sarah and Marc for building this wonderful home.

Honeymoon Getaway
Sarah and Marc’s property was amazing. We stayed in August as a honeymoon get away. The location was perfect to get to local hiking trails, palisade head, black beach, or even a day trip to Lutsen/Grand Marais. The views from the cabin’s porch of Lake Superior were incredible. We will be back!

Repeat Stay Even Better
Sarah and Marc continue to exceed expectations. My wife and I have stayed at this cabin twice (plus another of theirs) and it is always 10 out of 10! Cabin is beautiful, views are second to none, and location is private yet accessible. Perfect cabin for a romantic getaway or for a young family looking to experience the North Shore. Location of this cabin is perfect for a quick trip to Lutsen, Grand Marais (north) or Two Harbors/Duluth (south) - but a 5-10 minute walk to Ilgen Falls (from the cabin) is the best kept secret of the North Shore.

Fantastic North Shore Hideaway
This really is a perfect place for a North Shore getaway. The house has everything we needed and the views from the deck are a stunning background for coffee, cocktails or a good book. It is also well placed for activities with countless state parks and hiking paths within a short distance and easy day trips to Grand Marais and other north shore gems. We had a wonderful stay and hope to return soon!

Staying at this cabin was our favorite part of our Minnesota north shore trip. Absolutely beautiful and comforting. Everything was very well communicated, and Sarah and Marc have done an excellent job with the place and gave us everything we needed. Fantastic cabin with a wonderful view
We were pleased with the property and its amenities. The only downside was the walkway from the parking to the deck. It was pure ice and hadn’t been cleared for some time. We managed to make a path but it was very, very slick. Else, we were very comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Seeing the stars at night was a definite plus.

A quick mother-daughter weekend
The Falls Ridge cabin was the perfect fit for a quick North Shore mother-daughter weekend! We explored Tettagouche and Palisade Head, went for a xc ski with local friends, and made great food at the cabin while enjoying the warmth of the wood stove and the incredible view! We really enjoyed the photo book telling the story of the building of the cabin. Communication was excellent!

Lovely weekend stay
We had such a cozy weekend getaway at this cabin. The place was impeccably clean when we arrived and it had everything we needed. The views from the cabin are amazing. So many great hikes nearby. If traveling during winter/when there is snow, I would recommend having a 4-wheel drive for the unpaved uphill road to the cabin. Overall our stay was so relaxing and enjoyable. We hope to be back soon.

We have stayed at a lot of cabins over the years and this property is by far the most beautiful and well built cabin with lots of thought put in during the building process!! Even Better Than The Pictures
This cabin was spectacular and even more beautiful than the pictures! Breathtaking views from every direction! The cabin was charming! Very clean and fully stocked with everything you’ll need for your stay. The beds were very comfortable and the futon on the 3 seasons porch is a perfect napping spot! Great communication from owner and very responsive to messages! You won’t regret renting this cabin!

Perfect cabin with amazing view
This was a perfect cabin for my visit to the North Shore for some fall hiking. It is close to several beautiful state parks. When I was done for the day, I looked forward to coming “home” to the cabin to enjoy a glass of wine, put up my feet and enjoy the view. The cabin is well appointed and very comfortable, highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin in Silver bay! It has some of the best views you can believe for a vacation home on the north shore. It was in a great location, close to so many good hiking options. We give it our highest recommendation and hope to stay there again!

Beautiful Log Cabin with a Stunning View
The cabin is perched at one of the highest points on the ridge which offers a stunning view of Lake Superior. It's nestled in the forest and feels very private. The cabin itself is very well constructed with high quality touches. We loved reading the book left by the owners that documents the construction process, much of which was done by them over a three year period. Despite the feeling of being far away, it is very centrally located to many great hikes and and less than a five minute drive down the hill to Tettegouche State Park.

So relaxing!
Great little cabin. It was perfect for our family of four. The view was absolutely amazing and nice and quiet, which is what we were hoping for. We enjoyed watching the ground squirrels eat berries off the trees and I was greeted by hummingbirds each morning while sipping my coffee on the deck taking in the sunrise. Perfect distance from the state park. Wish we could have taken our dog, but no biggie. 11 out of 10 stars!

Amazing cabin and surroundings
Fallsridge is a beautifully crafted cabin/home that was clearly built with a high level of craftsmanship and decorated with love for family and the northwoods. The location is just off 61 but seems incredibly remote. The only sounds to be heard are the breezes whispering through the trees. All rooms are clean, the kitchen was well appointed and the beds were very comfortable. We were given the incorrect lock box combo and had to wait a few minutes to get in the home, but the owner was quick to text the correct combo and was very apologetic. Sarah was courteous and prompt with all correspondences. This was the closest property we could find that was available for the Two Harbors TallShips festival, but it was incredibly beautiful and serene. We are excited to stay here again. There is a short, easy hike to scenic areas like Ilgen Falls that shouldn't be missed. One note, there is a tv and dvd player at this location but no cable access, so just be prepared. I know tv should take a backseat to enjoying nature, but just in case you are wanting to watch the local news, sports, etc, it is one thing that is not available at Fallsridge. All in all, it is an incredible home to spend a few days. It is large enough for I would say 5 people, 6 max, but for 4 or less it's perfect

Property was exactly as described. We were very impressed by the cleanliness of the space and it’s history (hand built by the owners.) Truly a stunning little cabin with breathtaking views. Very comfortable beds and linens. I want to find/buy the same chairs they had on the three season porch and in the living room! Communication was always speedy and helpful. By the way, this property has an appropriate count of dishes, seating and table chairs …a huge plus!

Spring Break Up North
Beautiful log cabin in a great location! The view of the lake is expansive from this mountain-top location. The wildlife are abundant with deer sightings from the deck and the eagles soaring above viewed from nearly anywhere in the cabin. The location is very peaceful on a road with no traffic; we seemed to be the only ones on the mountain during our entire week-long stay. The cabin worked great for our family of four, furnished nicely with everything we needed. The photo book of the cabin construction was a nice touch. Learning the hosts built most of the cabin with their own hands, and seeing the many meticulous steps required to do so, provides a great appreciation for the craftsmanship of the cabin. We look forward to visiting again!

Weekend winter wonderland
My husband and I spent the weekend for our anniversary and we felt like the cabin exceeded our expectations. The location was quiet, private and had beautiful views. We felt right at home in the cabin. The bed was comfortable and wood stove kept us plenty warm even when it was quite cold outside. You definitely would need 4 wheel drive to access if there is any snow on the road. Sarah was very responsive to any messages/questions we had. We look forward to hopefully coming back for another getaway in the future.

We were very familiar with the area & knew the location was great. As many others have said before, the pictures of the view do not do it justice. The cabin is top-shelf & has all the amenities need for a fun trip. Also, as the owners make clear, you will certainly need all wheel drive to get up the road in the winter.

We rented Sarah and Mark’s gorgeous property in Silver Bay for a girl’s hiking weekend, and had a wonderful time!
