Less than two hours from the Twin Cities! Shell Lake is known for its great bass and walleye fishing as well as its clear water. Bring your ATV or Snowmobile-trails are less than a quarter-mile away and go for miles! The cabin is handicap accessible with two bedrooms and one bath. Bedroom one includes a lake view with a queen bed and twin bunk above. Bedroom two includes a queen bed with two twin bed bunks above. There is a pull-down queen-size murphy bed in the living room. Sandy, shallow entry into the lake-great for kids and floaties! There is a kayak, paddle boards, and a peddle boat for your use as well as a horseshoe pit and a volleyball net! Bring your boat! We took advantage of the board games available and the cozy living space! The cabin has its own lake access but is also located next to the public launch access - we loaded up our vehicle and drove out onto the ice for ice fishing!The community was hosting a Kids Fishing Tournament (free of charge) and we spent the day out fishing on the lake - everyone was so friendly and we appreciated being invited to this event!Spooner is located only 10 minutes from this cabin making grocery shopping and good restaurants, easily available as well!Kate, our host, was very responsive and quick to answer any questions we had. The kitchen was well stocked with all the dishes and cooking utensils we needed, and there was a whole basket of all sorts of toiletries for us to use. The home was equipped with everything we needed. We did not use any outdoor equipment because our stay was short, but there were kayaks, paddleboards, and a pedal boat available. We always appreciate a dog friendly property and boy did the dogs have fun! The road around the lake is great for walking and we enjoyed all the yard games too. The kitchen, linens, etc were all well-stocked, and the beds were comfortable. It was nice to have laundry as well. My husband, 5 year old and myself. The cabin is great, it has everything you coukd need, well stocked kitchen, lots of pillows, blankets, towels. We had some rain move through a couple of times so it was nice to have a smart tv, dvds and games in the cabin. The yard is huge and level making it perfect for yard games. The small little beach area was shallow/sandy and worked nice for our 5 year old, kind of weedy as you get further out but still good for floating the day away in tubes/kayaks. Our kiddo had a blast chasing after all of the little fish by the dock. We enjoyed our stay, we didn’t have to touch base with Kate other than at check-out which is a testament to how well she runs her rental! Check-in was a breeze. The lake access was the bonus of this rental. Shell Lake was peaceful and offered lots of great fishing. My teens were in a battle for most fish. The town was close with lots of eating options. Swimming was best at the public beach less than 2 miles away. The rental also had paddle boards, volleyball net, disc golf, and horseshoes. The family also enjoyed the indoor games.
