There were no sign in English. Breakfast only consisted of Chinese food. Coffee out of a machine. I had to ask which one was coffee because there were nothing in English.

Non Smoking room with ashtray?
Despite a request for non smoking room, the room with signs that state non smoking, it had an ashtray and smelled of smoke.

No Big Deal
Not much to tell. Had 20 layover (my choice), wanted to sleep before flying on to Bangkok. Vienna was close to Pudong, $15USD cab, couldn’t arrange free pickup, got free shuttle back. Slept well. Disappointed no cold beer upon arrival! Perfect shower, hot water, good TV. For my iPad, telephone, wifi didn’t show up until next morning. Overall, just what I needed.

Evening staff great,morning staff not so much.
Checking into the hotel, after being picked up at the (PVG) airport in a timely manner, was well-coordinated. Actually, easy. In the morning staff was not as helpful or responsive as one might wish. Hotel personnel allowed 'hack' taxi driverer to sit in the drive, at the front door,claiming to be the one ordered by the front desk for me. Only problem was that he demanded 20RMB more than the front desk person said the fare would be--a valet was 'in on it' and tried to hi-jack my luggage and put it into the taxi's trunk. I had to make a lot of noise before getting my luggage back. I asked that someone from the reception desk come to my assistance but was denied.(Yes, I even yelled across the lobby) About 3 minutes later the taxi that had actually been ordered arrived, got me to the airport in a timely manner and the fare was 8 RMB less than I had been told to expect.

This hotel is better than I expected. The room is fairly clean and comfortable. The breakfast is probably more suitable for Chinese than westerners. There is a supermarket right next door which opens very early in the day and you can buy grocery and local Shanghai food there. If you are looking for a place to stay a night to catch flight next day, this hotel is a good choice and it is not expensive.

There are many much nicer hotels near PVG
The location is not as convinient as it appears on Google map and is in a not nice neighborhood. The hotel is run down and shows little resemblence with the photos on Expedia website. Breakfast does include some options but comparing to breakfast in the other 3 hotels I stayed during this trip, it's a joke. WIFI was out for the whole day, I had to opt to check out way early so I can use WIFI in airport. For fairness, my guest room is fairly clean but I am sure I can get that level of cleaness and a whole lot more for the same price.

A Good Hotel
Overall, a good hotel when flying in or out of Shanghai. Friendly and helpful staff, many employees can speak English, rooms are clean, a very good Chinese breakfast, and complimentary shuttle service is a big plus.

Welcome to traditional chinese smelling hotel.
Very basic hotel. Even not close to the airport. Service limited. Nobody speaks English. Typical old stylish chinese smelling rooms.

Short stay pre flight from Shangai
Very short stay as I checked in a 2am and out by 6am for early flight out of Shanghai. I did not notice until checkin that they have 4 hour rates but that would have been ideal. There is local food very close and airport is only 10mins via the free shuttle or very cheap via TAXI.

A clean hotel
We stayed for 5 nights. The room was clean and comfortable. There was a grocery store near by and several restaurants near by. The hotel is worth the money we paid. The free breakfast was good and the hotel is only 15 minutes from the airport by hotel shuttle.

Nice hotel near Pudong airport
Our stay was cut short by a late incoming flight from Bangkok. We arrived about 2am and departed at 9am. Breakfast included, but we didn't have time to eat. Cab ride from Pudong airport about $10. Free shuttle on return to airport. I think we were upgraded to a more spacious room when we requested non-smoking. Over all a nice place to stay near the airport. Would stay again.

The website said that they do laundry service but they don't . Room was OK the lobby and elevator smelled like cigarettes the breakfast was very unappetizing. The breakfast area was full of leftovers on the floor.

Terrible smell in bathroom
In the bathroo, the smell is terrible, per my experiences in American Standard, they may not install the trap for drain properly or the trap does not work properly. There were not safety belts at the back seats, and the driver did not ask the passangers to fasten the safety belt.

A month earlier stayed at a hotel for 1/2 the cost but this time around thought by spending more I might have a better stay. 01- Had requested a non smoking room but as others have described my room was bad, I requested a room change but it was only acceptable but did not want to play musical rooms all night. If you do not smoke do not stay here. 02- The bus to and from the airport is terrible, yes it will get you from a to b but your sitting and trying to get around everyone's luggage. For the cost it should be much better, my advise is don't think paying more will have your stay better. With the majority of people not smoking hotel's would create more business by having no smoking buildings.

Nice hotel close to the airport
The overall quality of the hotel is pretty good. I chose this hotel because I had a flight to catch next day and the hotel is 15 minutes driving distance from the pudong international airport. The room is quite nice and clean with all the stuff I need. I will definitely recommend this hotel to people.

Akward check in due to language barrier but that is solely my issue because i should know the local language and not expect people to cater to me. People were pleasant , room was clean and had tooth brush and tooth paste ready which was a nice touch. Neighborhood is loud and construction going on. Close to shops and bars up the street. Taxis readily available. Have front desk call you a taxi it was half price of the taxis waiting outside and it only took 2 min. I suggest printing reservation so they can look at it and locate easily with out tryig to explain. Smoke in lobby which is gross . Free breakfast was ok .

It is close to airport. Staff were friendly. We stayed at Lesure room where there is a small extra room with Chinese game table. That was interesting.

I don't usually do reviews but given some of the negative ones about this hotel I thought I should. The hotel was actually very good given that it is a Chinese, not Western, hotel. The staff were friendly with limited English but no problems getting a taxi ordered and so forth. Check in was smooth and check out probably the best of any hotel I have stayed in. The room was on the 5th floor, clean, surprisingly no smoke smell and a bathroom to dream about. Only negative no refrigerator. Not much around but if you turn left and walk past two sets of traffic lights heaps of coffee shops, KFC, a couple of bars and along the way some brilliant street BBQ food to be had. An update on the shuttle bus to airport: last bus leaves 2PM (their check out time) and goes to Terminal 2

Great hotel close to airport
I was very surprised at the great quality of this hotel, especially considering it's very reasonable rate. It was one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in during my visits to China. The staff at the reception area spoke enough English to manage my check in/out. The room was lovely, and the hotel was very quiet. The breakfast buffet was typical for Chinese hotels. The only negative is that the hotel doesn't include instructions on the website for how to find their free airport shuttle. I had to ask someone at the airport to call the hotel to find out where I could meet the shuttle. Except for that, however, the Vienna hotel was a very nice experience, and I will definitely stay there again on future visits to China.

nice rooms, but rest of hotel was awkward
The rooms seem recently refurbished so they were clean, modern and comfortable. The rest of the hotel however can be a little disappointing - the breakfast wasnt very nice. The breakfast tables were dirty(the napkin turned from white to brown) and the staff don't seem to hurry to clean tables after people leave (6 open tables, filled with old dishes). Had a frustrating time asking the staff for a package is had delivered - they repeatedly insisted there were no packages, but when I insisted they check the numerous packages sitting behind the reception counter, they begrudgingly found my parcel!

Clean and comfortable hotel very close to the airport. Excellent bed and linens and good shower. The staff people speak very little English and the breakfast buffet is strictly Chinese, except for boiled eggs and toast. A good restaurant right next door. The shuttle van to the airport is a bit old and rickety but it will get you there, but only to terminal 1.

One Hour Rooms!
VERY INTERESTING! We discovered there is a "back" elevator, a "back or second lobby" and there are rooms available to rent for ONE HOUR! We saw such a 'service call' in place while there. My room was clean. Breakfast is not great for westerners and you have to figure out taxis from the airport. I probably won't choose to stay there again.

Airport shuttle was a dangerous experience. Breakfast had hot orange stuff said to be juice but more like medicine. No coffee at breakfast. Pillows are like rocks; otherwise, room is nice. Bathroom is good. Decent restaurant next door.

Airport Shuttle access is a problem, as is lack of English speaking employees. Taxis don't know how to find the place. Breakfast is really lacking, especially compared to the Pudong Ramada. But hotel staff was very friendly and tried to be helpful...very clean! Good value for money spent. Improve the breakfast????
