Closed for Winter ☃️---CAMP WHITETAIL is a one-of-a-kind amazing glamping experience! It is a 2 bedroom, 330 sq ft tree-tent that is superbly COZY, nestled on a private 5-acre wooded site! It is camping with modern conveniences and without having to pack up the house. Inside you will find a comfy custom-made Queen bed and Twin bunk beds, custom made table for two, a kitchen with running water and a propane stove, stocked with the basic necessities. (Note; if the weather is going to drop below freezing at night water will not be turned on during spring or late fall due to pipes and water heater freezing up.)All you'll need to bring is your food and a cooler. The outside covered porch/deck has chairs to take in the peaceful views while sipping coffee in the mornings or just enjoy a quiet evening under the stars. An enclosed outdoor bathroom is just right outside the tent, with hot shower and a toilet loo. The logs by the fire pit, with plenty of firewood, invite you to sit and tell campfire stories and roast marshmallows while creating new memories. The trail then leads to the water, where you can enjoy a trip on the canoe and paddle board (provided for you), lay in the hammock or fish in the clear waters of Douglas Lake. You can cook in the tent on the gas stove, the outdoor grill or cook on the open fire in the fire pit, sit by the handmade camp logs and enjoy your meal at the fireside. The red path from the parking area and between the tree-tent and the bathhouse is well lit all the way with solar lights, you can also turn on the porch lights and light up the woods. There are charging outlets 120V/USB for cell phone/laptops. There are only electric blankets. The trail to the lake crosses in front of a cabin. Wasn’t sure if it was occupied so we turned around and headed back as to not disturb anyone else’s experience. Overall the property was amazing. If you love the outdoors I highly recommend! Every time I go back to the mountains I want to stay in this same spot (camp whitetail) if we don’t have a bunch of ppl with us. We will most definitely be back. We want one of our own just like it now. The lake was dry while we were there but we stayed from Oct 16-19 so that was okay with us we got to walk it and explore the bottom. We seen bear feces and prints. Weather was perfect for us. It did rain the morning we left. It made it even more hard to get out of bed it was so peaceful! The tent is very well stocked and the host thought about everything for your stay. We only had to bring food :) The outdoor shower was pleasantly surprising in a good way. I was nervous about the outhouse setup but it was great minus the bugs! The only thing I wish was different was the access to the lake I wish it was more on the water but otherwise it was a great trip. The host was always available for questions and helpful! The entry instructions were easy to follow and it was a little bit magical walking down to the tent for the first time. Everything was perfect and very clean, even for my clean freak husband. We stayed with our 3 year old who was very excited to find games and toys for him to play with. We loved sitting on the balcony and even though it got into the upper 30s, we were all warm in our beds without the electric blankets. They really thought of everything you may need for a stay and to cook dinner. There was also plenty of firewood and even kindling and paper to get it started. Really all you need to bring is food! Everything else is taken care of! Host is very responsive. Its very private but I would say the only downside is the dogs barking at night. But everything else still makes it worth it. We would make the 5 hour trip down again! We headed into the Smokies and to Anakeesta, in Gatlinburg, which was a lot of fun for the 3 year old. Thanks for a wonderful weekend! ##### Jamie F. Our 4 year old wanted to go camping so this was perfect. Adrian had so many nice touches to make our stay comfortable such as a wagon at the parking area to help with transporting stuff, firewood, and lots of blankets to keep warm! We ventured to the lake and were still about to go fishing further down even though the lake was lowered. We were not able to use the canoe. The bathhouse was a perfect touch and convenient. We loved that we had hot water! With it being cooler, we didn’t have as much of an issue with bugs but still couldn’t escape them (as to be expected when camping). We felt safe, still had phone service, and actually slept very well! From an inexperienced camper, 10/10 recommend if you are trying to get the camping experience! ##### Erik and Ash T. The location was private and peaceful. We were there in July, so it was warm at night, but we loved waking up to cool mornings and having coffee on the deck. We had fans at night to help us stay cool. One of our favorite things was the outdoor shower. The Smoky Mountains were incredibly beautiful.
