We unfortunately cannot offer early Check-in as this time is needed to thoroughly clean and prepare the property for your arrival. Late Checkouts are not available and a fee of $50/ half hour will be charged for a late checkout. No check-in or check-out on Thanksgiving or Christmas Day. Please note: Our cabin is a NO SMOKING/VAPING cabin. If there is any evidence of any type of smoking/vaping inside the cabin which can include but is not limited to ashes, odors, ash trays, butts, etc., there will be a minimum $500 fee added to the credit card on file or the cost to repair any damages and or remove smells associated with the smoking, whichever amount is greater. We do highly advise that you purchase traveler's or trip insurance to protect your purchase in the event of poor weather, illness, or other factors outside our control that would cause you to have to cancel after booking. Many credit cards offer this protection for you as well. This is a quiet area and this really isn't a cabin well suited for parties, therefore we do not allow them. Minimum age of 25 to reserve the cabin. We will have to ask you to leave without refund if you arrive with more than our stated max occupancy, have a party, or aren't accompanied by the adult age 25 or older that booked the property. The cabin is in a mountainous region; therefore, some roads may be considered steep. We have no issues with a two-wheel drive vehicle under normal dry conditions, but a four-wheel drive vehicle and tire chains are needed under adverse winter conditions. Please plan appropriately for winter stays. We do not issue refunds for weather or driving issues as this is well beyond our control. There is a floodlight camera on the exterior of the cabin to monitor the entryway. It lights the walkway for our guests, captures video of any wildlife that wanders near the cabin, and helps with weather monitoring and occupancy compliance. We love our furry friends, but out of consideration of those with allergies, we do not allow pets. We are in a very quiet area, however we cannot guarantee complete isolation from all noises. Thermostats are on a locked range of 65-75 degrees. Electric fireplaces will also produce additional heat. Stays of 10 days or more will require a housekeeping visit weekly with an added fee for the service. A STARTER pack of basic supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, and hand soap is provided for your convenience. This is only a starter pack and you may very likely need to purchase or bring more depending on the length of your stay and number of guests. We also provide all linens and towels. This cabin is near the heart of the Smoky Mountain National Park and you may be lucky enough to see some of it's wildlife. Please keep a safe distance and never feed wild animals. We have our cabin on a monthly pest control program that is performed by a certified and professional pest control company. We have never stayed in Wears Valley and could not have be happier with our stay at this beautiful home! The owners communication was excellent and the location was incredible! We were just far enough out of the bigger towns to get away from large amounts of people and close enough to go there when we wanted. The quaint town of Wears Valley was probabaly our favorite place to be and we found ourselves staying around there most of the time. The home was extremely well maintained with exceptional attention to housekeeping details and beautifully appointed to allow for the best possible experience. Layne and Jenni were very easy to work with from booking, check-in to checkout. Helpful instructions on lighting, remotes, and procedures. Very cool electronic guidebook provided with many helpful details on the home AND Townsend / Smokey’s. Restaurants, grocery, gas station, shops 10 minutes away. EASY access to Smokey’s / trails. The house feels like a home. Is very well constructed and nicely furnished. Large open kitchen / dining room / great room. House faces directly East / West = sunrise over the mountains in the morning and beautiful direct view of sunsets over the mountains in the evening. Upper and lower decks face west, very nicely furnished / did not use hot tub but it looked nice. Many MANY nice “touches”. Plenty of toiletries and bath towels in all 3 bathrooms. All bedrooms and upstairs great room have modern TV’s and electronic “fireplaces” for both aesthetics and heat if needed. A few reviews expressed “privacy” concerns over upper and lower level dual purpose bathrooms accessed by common area and adjoining bedroom. Bedroom access is via a designer “barn door”; however, mounting design leaves a 2 inches gap between door and wall = bathroom is not / does not feel private especially if someone is in the bedroom. We love the house and plan on returning with friends, but will assign / use bathrooms with discretion in mind. All in all, a wonderful retreat and will be back. ##### Mark S. It had everything we needed and then some. This was the perfect home base for all of our vacation adventures. It was far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, but not too far for the times we wanted to drive in. The road to the cabin was easier to navigate than we anticipated. We were hoping to see a bear at some point during our stay and boy, did we!!! We saw a few. Just out and about on the road in the middle of the day. Even saw one while taking out the trash! The owners were very responsive and very helpful. This was our first time staying in a cabin in the Smokey Mountains and we could not have asked for a better experience or place to stay. I highly recommend Freedom Escapes. The property is located in a quiet/secluded areas but also close to several stores and restaurants that we enjoyed. It’s about a 30 minute drive to pigeon forge and/or Gatlinburg which was perfect for us. The drive to either of those is a beautiful drive. The best part of staying at eagles nest is that it’s not in the middle of the crowds and traffic that you’ll experience in Gatlinburg or pigeon forge so you get to experience the mountains as they should be experienced without the hustle and bustle of the city.
