A cozy Family Base Camp for Hiking, Skiing, and Area Exploration! Echo Place has over 1,580 SF of living area with lots of surrounding porches and decks. A bedroom and bath on each of the three levels makes the ideal setup for up privacy when more than one couple/family come together for fun in the Smokies. We advertise to sleep (8) due to size of cabin. However with the sofa bed and loft cubby it can actually sleep eight (8) adults and three (3) children comfortably. Plenty of very well lit parking for at least 4 vehicles. Zero steps to the main level! The Main Level features a bedroom with King bed and bunkbeds for kids/teenagers, HDTV and DVD player. The bathroom is shared with the main living area. Open kitchen/dining/living room with HDTV/DVD Player and Bluetooth surround sound to stream your own music. A huge stone fireplace, soaring ceilings, plenty of glass/french doors to the decks and woods make this space seem huge. The deck space off the main level includes a large covered porch with picnic table, open decking with Adirondack chairs and a bar w/seating to take in the views and mountain air. Also a half-court shuffleboard off the parking lot makes for great outdoor fun. The hiking center is at the entrance with hiking poles, binoculars, and a ruck pack full of emergency items. The Loft Level features a Queen bed w/child sleeping area, private bath and French doors leading to a nice balcony and sitting area. HDTV. The Lower Level features a third bedroom with King bed, HDTV, UT themed laundry room, and a recreation room. The bathroom is shared between the rec room and bedroom. Recreation includes a beautiful handcrafted shuffleboard table, an air hockey table, and a 3-in-1 bumper pool/poker/game table. Comfortable sectional for viewing movies on the large surround sound HDTV with Bluetooth theater. Plenty of movies and games provided for your use as well as several board games. Off the Rec Room is an enclosed screened in porch with a bubbling hot tub and comfortable seating to take in the night. A grille area is just outside (bring your own charcoal). There were dead bugs, spiders, and cob-webs everywhere. We had to get ahold of the owner to clean for us again and bring fresh towels since some of the dead bugs were on the towels. The cabin wasn’t what we pictured it to be! There are cabins all around it on a cliff side. On a different note we did see bears every day around the cabin and on the deck (blocking us in the cabin for a while) but you can clearly see that the people are feeding the bears around those cabins which they shouldn’t. Regardless we didn’t let the disappoint of the cabin prevent our family from having a good time! ##### Jason M. The hot tub was great!! The housekeeper, Sissy was amazing!! The toaster was broken and she brought a new one in a jiffy. The windy road is breathtaking. I did wish we had a view from the porch but when we were in the driveway we could see the mountain view beautifully. ##### Jenny F. Jay answered questions quickly and the house was perfect for our needs. Easy access to the park as well as downtown. We saw 9 bears this trip, including 4 cubs! A family of barred owls also stopped by on our last day! You can’t find a better vacation home than Echo Place for beautiful views, comfortable rooms, and bear encounters. The bears stayed away for a couple of days, then finally emerged. My husband had an “up close” encounter with one bear that came right up to the house. Later, we forgot to lock the car (our bad!) and found in the morning that a bear had rummaged through it. Fortunately no car damage, but heed the warnings and lock those cars, folks! We love Echo Place and you will, too. The layout of the home is perfect for couples / small groups; plenty of room to visit while still having your own private space. Love the hot tub, the cozy kitchen (with everything you need for cooking) and the wonderful deck for relaxing in the mountain air. Book this place TODAY - you won’t be sorry. Cute cabin with plenty of beds for the entire family. My teens enjoyed the game room and hot tub, and that there is a tv in every room! Wifi was good too. The beds were very comfortable!
