There was no one who can speak english in the facility so it was so hard to check in. Once we got our room, the beds and bathrooms were filthy and looks unsanitary. We left the next day and looked for a different hotel.

Bed had hair on it when we arrived, and floor wasn't very clean. Bring your own towels too because they clearly aren't clean either. It's clear to say that they do not thoroughly clean rooms for new guests. The hosts were okay-nice, but what really bothered us was that they would come into your rooms EVERY TIME you leave to go out - which came to a surprise as well as invasion of privacy much? Literally, every time we left the house, they come in to close the air conditioning (which we left on with an extra card plugged into the system) and "take out" the garbage and nothing else clean - I don't know if taking out the garbage is an excuse to close the air conditioning because many of the times our garbage had close to nothing in it. It was really hot outside, so we love to leave on the AC before we left the place for 2 hours to grab food and come back to a room full of cold air, however, every single time we came back it was closed and someone had been in our room. It's like they're watching the CCTV camera waiting for you to leave the house so they could come in to your room to "save electricity". Literally invaded our privacy every day - even if we left the room for 2-3 hours. The location was okay, close to the heart of myeongdong, but the devilishly STEEP HILL was what got us. After a tiring day out, climbing that steep hill had us exhausted and sweating (which is also why we left the AC on). Overall, would not stay again. Not very clean and invasion of privacy.

An afforable gem
It is a steep walk up hill, but it is in a safe location and near a lot of things. 10 minutes away from markets and the subway. It is very minimalist, but it worked for us. It was clean and it was great to have a washing machine to use.

Bed and pillows are not well prepared. No appropriate pillow and bed covers. Soap and shampoo were not replenished. Toilet papers was not prepared. Bad towels. Air conditioner is very dirty. Not friendly check-in and -out. With the price, we can find other 3-3.5 stars hotels which are much better and cozier than this.

Poor conditions of accommodations
As other reviewers have stated the hotel is at a poor level should be rated 2 star. Bring your own towels the ones provided are basically hand cloths. Access to the hotel involves a steep climb. The breakfast to be offered was non existent. This hotel should be struck off your list of offerings until conditions are improved.

Nice private hotel
Nice hotel close to all the small restaurants and cafes. Especially the Cat Cafe. Also there's the Namsan Tower that we rode the cable car to. Only a 10-15 minute walk uphill. You can really burn the calories.

A fine place to stay.
Everything is fine for staying and also the price too. But the hotel is up on the hill. Its kinda tired me every time when i have to go back the hotel. But if you like hiking or challenging yourself i am recommend you to stay at this place!!

Great Location and great experience .
The location is near Myeongdong subway station, about 10min walk, convenience for shoppers. But need to go uphill when u return back to guest house, so better to bring along a trolley. Room was, small and breakfast is just toast and cereals with sofa bean milk. Recommended this place for traveller who are fit and doesn't stay in the room whole day. Overall great location and great experience.

Small but clean and adequate
Within walking distance from Myeong-dong subway (use exit 3) up the hill. I took taxi from subway, 3300KRW, driver used GPS still had difficulty, 2 drivers refused to take me. In residential area, very small oneway street, one small building. Walking up definitely not easy with big luggage. Breakfast is self service with toasts, jam and peanut butter, instant coffee and soybean milk. Have hot/cold water. Near many shopping and restaurants, down the hill, across from Prince hotel, direct INC airport bus 6001 & 6015, 15K/10K KRW, coming/going to both airports. Rooms are small, can get noisy but modern and clean. TV has lots of local and foreign channels. No left luggage service after checkout. A small kitchen area to heat food, not for actual cooking, has microwave. Good for short stay or sleep only.

Migjt need climbing gear.
Small rooms...which were not too bad except for one hair on the cover and a smell coming from the bathroom....maybe a loose toilet seal. It is a very cheap room located near a good shopping area however the hotel itself is located on a very steap hill. So a taxi or calling the hotel for a ride might be the way to go for most. The kitchen left much to be desired....would not recommend using. If you are looking for a cheap room and bed this is the place but dont expect much else.

amazing value
Can't believe how cheap this place was for what we got. Clean quiet room, not too tiny, with excellent a/c, 300 channels (!!), free breakfast (nothig gourmet, but good for budget travelers: frosted flakes, PB&J, and instat coffee), private bathroom with nice shower, conveniently located near shopping area of myeongdong and right down the street from the namsan cable car. restaurants, coffee shops and convenience stores very nearby. they left us instructions fr when we needed to check in quite late. my only warnings: the hill to the hotel is steep (but totally doable), and our double bed was actually just two twin beds pushed together, which kept sliding apart every night. (maybe you can request a true double?)

The hotel is situated in Myeong Dong, the best shopping place. Yet, it's too far from the subway station and the hotel is mid-leveled Which means you gotta walk uphill and that is not very convenient. Besides, the double bed the hotel provided was merely 2 single beds put together... They slid apart easily.....

Not as good as last stay.
This was my second stay at the hostel, last year when I traveled with my friends it was nice so I booked again. Because of Mers less tourists visiting Seoul this time, the hostel did not have anyone at the reception. We got there around 8pm and only see paper with names stick on the window. The next morning we thought the receptionist will come but till 11am which is the check out time no one showed up. So we just drop the key in the box and left. The breakfast before was good with many choices like cakes and fruits but this time was just toast and cereal. Overall this hotel is good for budget traveler with light baggage, it is very hard trying to push a big luggage uphill. Hostel has free washing machine in the kitchen area but not really have somewhere to hang clothes after washing. Hopefully the owner realise that drop the service standard will not bring back your customers.

Good Experience.
Second review - Good experience. Very convenient location, near cafes and friendly info desk. Only downside is the steep slope before reaching the residence. They are also very nice to keep our luggage safe for the days we went Jeju.

Overall good experience.
Conveniently located in Myeong-dong, a 5-min walk from the famous cosmetic street. Have several cafes / restaurants near the residence too, good for supper. Hotel room is small but well-equipped and clean. Only downside is the steep slope before reaching the hotel (can take it as a good workout after a heavy meal of fried chicken). Info-desk can speak english and chinese, suitable for international visitors

Uninhabitable hotel in Myeondong
I did not actually stay in the hotel, because the bathroom was out of order. I came back the second day, expecting to find it fixed (as they promised), but it was not done. So, this hotel was uninhabitable.

Horrible Horrible experience in Seoul
I did not stay one night in this hotel. When I checked in, I was informed that the bathroom didn't work and that it would be repaired by the next day. I left my bags there the first night and stayed with a friend. When I returned the next day, no repair had been done, so I checked out. I have asked for a refund, but so far Hotels.com has not helped me.

Most were right about the location on the hill. But, it's really not that bad. You're actually a couple minute walk from the cable car up to the Seoul Tower. It's a bit difficult to find, but if you email the place they will give you directions. As far as the place goes, you couldn't find a more helpful staff. It was a pleasure staying there. They will go out of their way to help you.I usually check out other close places to stay where ever I am, but this time I saw no need. I would stay here again. It's a great location for the subway, food, night street walking area. You won't be disappointed.

I had a hard time searching for this little motel and is situated uphill near to the namsan tower which is very inconvenient to go with my huge luggage. By the night fall, the place is a lot quiet and may not be safe for female travelers. Even though, Myeondong is famous for shopping among the females.

reasonable deal.
Stayed for a night. As is mentioned by many, the road to the hotel is a bit steep (less than 5 min., though): If it snows in winter, it could be slippery. Other than that, everything is fine. Good location (5 min. from the subway), kind staffs, free breakfast, free wifi. Most of all, the the room was very warm: the floor is heated, so the entire room is very warm and comfy.

Enjoyable trip to Myeondong and Namsan Tower
Staff speak English well. They are extremely helpful. Bed was too hard. We are not use to such firm bed. Very good location eventhough it was on a steep slope. Close to metro and Myeondong market is only a few minutes walk and is a must market to visit. Local food was very good. Must eat the fish cake in the stick with the sauce. Pomegranate juice was so good.

Up a hill
Hotel was located up a pretty steep hill. It was exhausting going back to hotel every night after a long day out. Even though the room was pretty clean and pleasant I would not stay here again

3日間滞在しましたが、フロントの人と一度も会いませんでした。 掃除した形跡もなく、ハウスキーピングと書いてありましたが、入った形跡はありますが、全くされておらず、汚かったです。 ベッドも髪の毛がついており、不衛生でした。

坂の上にあり、毎回のぼるのはつらい。 寝るだけなら安くていいかもしれないが、フロンとはほとんど無人だし、タオルもバサバサ。枕カバーがレインコートの素材っぽい、共同キッチンに食パンがおいてあるだけと言う、なんとも質素なホテル。ローコストなので仕方ないと思うかどうかです。
