Hotels in Sector R, Santa María Huatulco

"Overall the resort I would rate as good but needs some updating. Rooms are good and clean but would not recommend staying on the lowest floor as our first room there smelt of drainage and did not have a lot of natural lighting due to vegetation over growth on the balcony. My wife and I are sport active and one of the reasons we booked this resort as it had outdoor courts and a gym. The courts had primarily tennis with one of the three courts lined extra with pickleball but keeping the tennis net. They are missing the mark here, as pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the world. They could easily keep one court as tennis and convert the other two to multiple pickleball courts with the proper nets. The gym needs to be update, equipment was old and what they had did not utilize the space well. Including the through traffic to get to the courts. I have to say though the staff is amazing, from cleaning, to restaurant, to spa and gym staff. All came with a smile and happy to help. Our move to the third floor room with partial oceanview greatly enhanced the trip. "

"You were able to see the ocean at our room, there are trolleys to get you to the lobby. Staff are very friendly"

"No fridge in room, no Kleenex, not permitted to bring anything to pool or beach area unless purchased at hotel, beach not always swimmable, best waiter “Brian”, room clean, water bottles provided every day, ocean property with infinity pool, great location, lots of great restaurants onsite "

"The hotel is a great location, convenience store right across and a little plaza down the street with lots of food vendors at night. The food at the hotel and beach club were repetitive 🙁 wish there was more variety but unfortunately there wasn’t so we ended up eating out a lot which defeated the purpose of “all inclusive”… the hotel is a little outdated but it is very clean and staff is super nice. The place is quiet, and there’s a lot of older people which we didn’t mind but if you’re used to typical resorts, this one isn’t it. Which makes it unique and great. The beach is at walking distance which was convenient. "

"The hotel has 2 beaches but only one is swimmable. That beach has a lot of rock in the water so the swimming area is very small. Restaurant was so busy on gala night we couldn’t find a table and they ran out of plates and cutlery, I ate my dinner with a dessert spoon. They ran out of wine every single night and the drinks were very watered down. "

"Room was ok, pillows were lumpy- NO Hot WATER for shower asked 3 times never had hot water"

"Beautiful property on the edge of the ocean- big surf and stunning! Not great for swimming or snorkeling but absolutely stunning. "

"The breakfast and pool were fantastic. The room was clean and nice. It was great to have a kitchen. The air conditioning worked perfectly. The water pressure in the shower was poor, the beds were very firm, and we could not get WiFi in our room despite several attempts, which also meant the Roku tv did not work."
