Find Hotels by Independent in Schurz from CA $95

The best area to stay in Schurz is around the Schurz Highway, as accommodation options are very limited.

The Schurz Highway, also known as US-95, is the primary route through Schurz. The area is largely undeveloped, with vast open spaces and the Walker River Indian Reservation. There are few facilities beyond a small number of local businesses. It's a very quiet area, ideal for those seeking solitude and a chance to experience the natural environment.

For solo travellers or couples looking for a peaceful escape, staying near the highway provides the most convenient access to the limited services available. This area is a good base for exploring the surrounding high desert landscape.

The best time to visit Schurz is during the spring (April to May) and autumn (September to October) months.

These periods offer pleasant weather, with moderate temperatures that are ideal for outdoor activities like exploring the surrounding desert landscapes or enjoying Walker Lake. You'll avoid the intense heat of summer and the colder temperatures of winter.

For those interested in fishing or boating on Walker Lake, spring and autumn provide comfortable conditions.
