It happened to be on the night of the lighted boat parade. It is an excellent location. Walking distance to most areas in the Historic District. Absolutely beautiful hotel. There wasn't a luggage rack, closet, or refrigerator. The beds were very low to the ground but they were king size which was nice. It's $35/per day resort fee but they give you half of that back daily to use in the resort. Hotel is decorated nice. Hotel is in close proximity to downtown and plant riverside district. The hotel was beautifully decorated and in a very convenient location. Parking was difficult to find and I ended up having to use the valet service, which had a high daily fee. The pool area was nice and dinner at Rhett was good. We didn't necessarily want to stay in an old house or hotel, so we chose The Alida. I don't know the whole story, but it looks 'old' on the outside, but the inside is super modern and just beautiful. The room was big and open and clean. I really enjoyed my stay. The location was perfect as well, walking distance to the historic distric, River Street and the City Market.
