The best areas to stay in Santa Teresa, Puglia, are around the main Piazza Vittorio Emanuele and along the Lungomare degli Eroi.

The Piazza Vittorio Emanuele is the heart of Santa Teresa. It's a bustling square surrounded by historic buildings, local shops, and cafes where you can enjoy an espresso or an aperitivo. The main street, Corso Vittorio Emanuele, extends from the piazza down towards the sea, offering a pleasant stroll with more retail options and eateries. This central location provides easy access to the town's amenities and the beach.

For couples, staying near the Piazza Vittorio Emanuele offers a romantic and convenient base. You're just steps away from delightful restaurants for evening meals and can easily wander through the town's historic streets. The evening passeggiata (stroll) is a local tradition, and being in the centre allows you to fully experience it.

Families often find the area along the Lungomare degli Eroi particularly suitable. This promenade runs along the coastline, offering direct access to the town's main beaches, which are generally well-maintained and suitable for children. Accommodation here often provides sea views and the convenience of being able to walk straight from your hotel to the sand.

The best time to go to Santa Teresa, Puglia, is during the shoulder seasons of May, June, September, and early October.

These months offer pleasant weather, with warm temperatures great for enjoying the beaches and outdoor activities without the intense heat and larger crowds of July and August. You'll find the sea warm enough for swimming and the atmosphere relaxed, making it ideal for a more peaceful holiday.

For those planning a romantic getaway, May and September are particularly good. The vineyards are lush, the wildflowers are in bloom, and the towns are less crowded, allowing for intimate dinners and leisurely strolls along the coastline. You'll be able to enjoy the local cuisine and charming streets at a more relaxed pace.

Families travelling with children might prefer June or early October. The weather is consistently warm, and the sea is inviting, but the busiest tourist season hasn't quite peaked or has started to wind down.
