Find hotels in San Siro from CA $73

The best area to stay in San Siro is directly along the lakefront, particularly in the hamlets of Rezzonico and Santa Maria.

Rezzonico is a picturesque and historic hamlet known for its mediaeval castle, Castello di Rezzonico, which sits prominently overlooking Lake Como. The narrow, cobbled streets wind down to a small harbour and beach area. It's a quieter spot, ideal for those seeking a relaxing break with direct access to the lake and its scenic beauty.

Couples often find Santa Maria appealing for its slightly more developed lakeside promenade and selection of quality restaurants with lake views. It offers a wonderful base for enjoying leisurely strolls along the water, dining al fresco, and taking in the stunning mountain and lake scenery.

The best time to visit San Siro is during the late spring (May to early June) and early autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant and the crowds are generally smaller.

These periods offer comfortable temperatures, ideal for exploring the area's natural beauty and enjoying outdoor activities. You'll find it's not too hot for hiking or cycling, and the evenings are mild enough for al fresco dining. This timing is particularly good for couples looking for a relaxed trip, as the serene surroundings are superb for quiet walks and enjoying the local cuisine without the peak season rush.

If your primary interest is water sports on Lake Como, the summer months of July and August offer the warmest water temperatures. While this is peak tourist season, leading to more people, it's the best time for swimming, sailing, and other lake activities.
