"Remote staff consistent with many nice hotels in small towns. Clean and comfortable. Spartan, but all expected accoutrements provided (blow dryer). No outside windows but that helps with sleeping late and is expected when an old mercantile is converted to hostelry. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat. "

"The Dofflemyer is still a cute, quaint hotel that seems to be mostly well maintained. This is our second stay a few years apart, and our room was cleaner the first time we visted in comparison to this last time. The towels were not clean and our room light did not work and so we had trouble getting ready for the day without light. The room appeared clean but in reality it wasnt when you go to make coffee and the old pod is left in there, and toilet seat was dirty. Also, almost all stores are closed on Sundays and close early on Saturday, so there isnt much to do. Hopefully the hotel can brush up on their cleaniliness and the town can grow beyond 2 eateries, 1 coffee shop and a tiny winery. We value the small, quiet town atmosphere, but it may be too quiet for people trying to enjoy a weekend of shopping and dining."
"The cabin was perfect for our trip. It was exceptionally clean, comfortable, had everything we needed for cooking/grilling and the hosts were very responsive. Would definitely stay here again! And would recommend eating at The Bistro at Fiesta Winery and the Pecan House Grill in San Saba."

"We enjoyed the cozy home. Lots of space to spread out but also plenty of seats to gather in the dining area. Kitchen has everything that we needed to cook & serve our meals. Bathrooms were also well stocked. Jamie was very quick to respond to our questions. "

"A beautiful little cabin on a lovely property with horses and goats wandering freely. Tom and Beth were friendly and accommodating and let us play with the baby goats - so cute! Great anniversary weekend getaway for me and my wife."

"The previous reviews intrigued me so I had to find out for myself. The host, the hospitality, and the sheer attention to detail is why we booked with Karen and John. I have 5 kids, my husband and I have been together nearly 20 years and haven't done a weekend away since we were kids ourselves. Karen and John pulled out all stops. We were met at the gate and taken through the property so they could properly explain the layout, give us the low down on the animals, the hot tub, the supplies for the fireplace, the opening and closing of gates, and any other questions we might have. I'm very meticulous & particular, some would say OCD, so when I walked in this place, I truly was in heaven. The labels, the organization, the quality of the bed linens, hand soaps, the decor, the hand written and personalized notes left for us, the hand baked cinnamon rolls that were left with clear instructions on how to reheat to get the best results before eating, the amazing chocolate cookie we both drooled over, the organic products such as the coffee and teas, not to mention the 3 different ways you could brew them, the binder she left of the wild life on the property explaining the species & rarity of them, the feed they leave you to feed the animals, the s'mores kits, the hot tub and night sky, the best kept secret is the fishing y'all! We landed 2 in the first 10mins of being out there! To our surprise, the checkout was extended so as not to rush which was so nice!Stop looking and book!"
Exquisite Hill Country Cottage-Giraffe experiences, millions of bluebonnets now!

"Based on our experience of having stayed at several hundred usually higher-end VRBOs, this one ranks at the top 1 %. Most impressive is the caliber of the owner Ty , and his staff. They go above and beyond in helpfulness, technical expertise, and dedication. There are other safari ranches you could go to, but I doubt you would find a more professional one. One would conceivably go to an actual safari, but I doubt animals from different continents would be as well represented on the menu and seemingly treated as nicely. Our favorite is the Grevy's zebra, which is endangered. This is a gem. It would get harder to book once words get out. Maybe we should not mention that they are also fun and charismatic people, the various activities and tours provided are enjoyable and winsomely presented. We, including our son who is in his 20s, had a blast but in a blissful way."

"Cabin was exactly as stated online. It was very cozy with an easy walk down to the river, which is what we went for. We didn’t cook much at the cabin, just breakfast, but it had all we needed. We had a short but great stay!"
