Stayed one night. Rooms are in desperate need of renovation. The curtains in the room had handprints and the bathroom ceiling black spots on it. There were also random remnants of the previous occupants.

I love that it is so close to CSUSM that we can visit our student and be staying nearby. The breakfast and staff are terrific! I don’t like that the pool and hot tub area closes so early that we’ve stayed there many times and rarely have been able to actually use those facilities after we come back after dinner. Some of the rooms are kind of rundown but everything is clean and it’s all about location, location location!!

Staff at front very friendly. Housekeeping not too friendly, hair dryer had black smudges on it & toilet wasn’t clean. Also blanket had rips on it & had holes on it. Will not be staying here again.

Our room needs an update. Carpet is worn, tile broken in bathroom, toilet runs on and off, patches in tub. Nice hotel, good location, great staff.

Initial impression is that its pretty outdated and worn for the $213/nt price. Front office staff person was nice and professional. They gave us the room next to the exercise facility that is noisy. This was inconsiderate given the hotel is not fully booked. Doors in room appear to have been broken into and then puttied up for repair and spot painted. Gobs of heavily caulked areas in bathroom to cover shady carpentry. Toilet leaks and flushes poorly and is easily blocked. We asked for plumbing service and front office merely came into our room and left an old dirty plunger for us to take care of ourselves and then left without notifying us that we needed to fix on our own. Beds are hard and appear very old. A/C unit is old and very loud and extremely noisy rattle when fan on.

Good overall but late fitness center opening
Good stay overall, I wish they could open the fitness center earlier and not until 6:00 am, that doesn't give enough time to do a workout, shower, breakfast and head to your meetings. 5:00 or 5:30 am would be great to have available the fitness center

So very nice at the front desk. Great parking. Staff at desk was super nice. Good parking and good location. Hotel is very rundown in rooms. We had two days of ants and mattresses are super soft. Bathroom is old and walls are thin.

I was placed by the elevator and feel that when ever I buy my stay from another source other than direct from Hampton inn at San Marcos, I get crappy rooms. I received a handicapped room and the shower looked awful. The overall room looks like it needs some sprucing up. I checked in early around 2:45 p.m. so it was not that they had no rooms. It was not busy as the parking was not full. They need to do better as I stay there due to business/family events.
