"I booked this room because it had the highest customer satisfaction for the price. As I was going to bed I found what I will identify as a bedbug on the sheet. They could not change our room and after tearing the sheets apart I didn't see any other bugs so we stayed. I expected some concern/response from the hotel manager but no one contacted me about the bug on the sheet. They were totally disconnected from any problem. When I called them to discuss my bill they told me they don't have anything to do with compensation since Hotels.com booked the reservation. Really? The next time anything like this happens I will leave the hotel immediately, obviously. I expected more from a Best Western. And don't think Hotel.com gets any points here, either. They weren't any help. Hotels.com "negotiated" a minimal amount to a virtual card without acknowledging any issue. I told them to keep it. Google says I should have been refunded everything. All I wanted was an apology acknowledging their responsibility and something for this sour note on our vacation."

"The second we walked into the property, our eyes just lit up with the overwhelming beauty and charm of the place. We were on our honeymoon and this was the perfect place to relax, enjoy some privacy, and spoil ourselves with great hospitality. I have stayed at some very nice places in the Southern California area and this one hit the top of the list very quickly. I almost don’t want to tell too many people about it because I want it to be our place to escape from the rest of the world. Our suite was very nice and charming. The staff were so kind and personable. And the area is easy to navigate, especially with the FREE trolley service that takes you up and down the coastal highway. It’s also about a 40ish minute drive to Disney, if you’re looking for a great place to stay on the coast while enjoying the magic of Disney. "

"If it's a lower price place near the beach is what you're in the market for, then this might be okay. But it's not that cheap comparatively and we've never seen a hotel room that has no closet, no dresser, no utilitarian couch, no side table lamps - nothing really but a bed and buzzing mini-fridge. Our clothes had to be laid out on the floor. The hotel is really run down and on a very busy, noisy street with car rumbling by all night. When we got there, the night manager told us we booked a smoking room (we didn't) and that a non-smoking room would be $100 more. A general greasy experience all around. There's a ton of other, better hotel choices in the area."
