The property was super clean and had nice views of the area, some of the lights didnt work or maybe i didnt know how to turn them on but it was okay since i only stayed the night for a concert nearby but other than that it was amazing.

My only issue was the parking, i never get toll abiut where to park or how to get into the structure but fortunately you can park on the street and is free

Perfect downtown location
Very clean and comfortable. The only negative was not understanding how to check-in once I arrived and the property is heavily scented in the public spaces, which depending on your preference this might not be a negative.

Everything good except for the parking.
Everything was perfect, except for the parking. The hotel does not provide parking so you either have to walk down the block into a public parking garage, with no In-N-Out privileges, or take your chances and park on the street alongside an army of homeless.

MyHotel is a unique new hotel concept that occupies new condo properties as hotel room use until they are sold. This means the rooms and furniture are barely used.

We had a 2 bedroom condo in a brand new tower in downtown San Jose. The place was clean and beautiful with great views. I would definitely stay here again. The only weird thing is that there is no parking zone to unload your luggage, and the check in was on the 7th floor of the building.

The place is very nice & complete. You have bed, simple living room, full kitchen, washer/dryer & bathroom. You don’t have access to all the amenities, just the gym only. The area is nice but there’s some homeless or sketchy people walking around. I saw a naked homeless person. Other than that, the hotel is nice.

The building, and the apartment are very clean and are as depicted. The toiletries are very nice. The pool and barbecue area are excellent. The parking is a bit expensive. It would be nice to have a safe. The area around the building is not very safe at night. use bottled water as the tapwater smells really bad.

Finding the parking was a little tricky, but we called the front desk & the nice lady at the counter guided us through the whole thing. When we got upstairs to check in there was a rude guest, but the woman at the front desk handled the situation effortlessly. She also had our room keys & parking pass ready to go for us! The service provided & the friendliness of staff was great, we’ll definitely be choosing WhyHotel again!

Great room / less than ideal communication
The communication was horrible. I had no clue that this was different than a traditional hotel. It would be nice if the app let us know to keep an eye out for check in instructions to avoid issues getting into ou room. Also, the bluetooth/app key did not work so we had to obtain a physical key. Also, there were no details about parking and we were blindsided with a $40 per car charge.

First time staying at a contactless hotel. No signs on how to check in. The receptionist was the only one helpful. Management gave limited information about the hotel. Parking was a nightmare. Apparently the parking garage door was broken and had to use the residential side of the garage, hotel card key didn't work on the reader, and had to tail gate in through the door to get. Given a parking pass but the space was already occupied by another car. Had to visit the manager's office three times t get the parking situation fixed, mine you it took an hour to get it resolved. Missed out dinner reservations because of it. Will not recommend this hotel to anyone unless their manager understands that they need update their customers on situations out their control to make their stay comfortable.

There was no EV charging available for WHY guest and parking was $40 without charging although there were Chargepoints in the garage. They had fees for everything extra like if you wanted to check-in early it was $50 per hour and that just felt like it was overpriced where in a regular hotel if the room was ready they would let you check-in with no additional charge. The elevator and card key system was not working well with the parking garage and an alarm sounded every time you went in or out of the garage

Unit was nice and clean when we arrived. Some of the lighting fixtures didn't work (bedside lamp and bathroom light) but overall it fits the need. Staff were very helpful, both Placemaker and the building front door staff. The phone app didn't work to unlock, but the card keys worked great on front door and unit door.

The WhyHotel was great in that the room was spacious, clean, and quiet. The only negative that I had was that the TV required that I subscribe to streaming services -- something I don't currently do. Otherwise, the hotel was great.

WhyHotel when you just need a place to stay....
Overall is was a great experience. I don't recall getting communicaiton about parking but I figured it out and was told by another guest to call and get a space assigned. The key app worked great with all the readers except my room. I got a key card so I didn't have to fumble around with it. Otherwise, it was two blocks from San Jose State and we could easily walk to campus and visit our son.

This property was great. Felt safe and the apartment style was amazing for my whole family. It’s in a noisy part of town and the night life of San Jose got loud on a Saturday night. That would be the only negative.
