Good place to stay. Close to the water. We had a water leak while we were out at dinner and the staff repaired and cleaned up very quickly. Even offered us an upgrade. I only wish the fridge was a little colder and there was a little more room. The site pictures are deceiving of the size of the rooms. And there's a $10 a day fee for parking, which I didn't read about on their page. But over all, a good place to stay. Id stay again.

Location: Mitch's Seafood was great!
The front desk gals were both very friendly and helpful. A brief stay overnight, given excellent reviews of Mitch's, went and enjoyed!

Very close to Harbor, beach is 10min away

Posted 10-Aug-2015
Pros: nice bar/pool area. close to everything, and clean and quite. Parking sucks at night though.
Cons: Parking
Location: Fishing Charters, Fish Market, Shopping and view of the harbor are just across the street. USS Midway, 5 min down the road, beach just 10 min away
Had a great time quick drive to a lot of attractions, harbor is right across street, if you are a fisher man, this is a great hotel, leave your car at hotel and walk across the street to like 3 different charters.

Stay away

Posted 3-Aug-2015
Pros: Nothing. Point Loma cafe has the best breakfast and service unlike the hotel.
Cons: Rooms and everything. Needs upgrades all over.
Front office desk is not welcoming and rude. The rooms are really old with a moldy(strong) smell. Us as a family with two kids stayed in one room and grandparents on another. Grandparents room A/C did not work. Ours worked with the loudest noise. Could not sleep with A/C on. Parking is tight. Weirdest design, it has many different buildings. You have to walk a lot to get to your room from the front office. No water in rooms, just put in refrigerator and charge. No elevator for second floor. Had to carry everything up the stairs.

Dear Traveler: Thank you so much for taking the time to post your comment regarding your recent stay at the Holiday Inn Bayside. We appreciate your feedback. Please accept my apologies for any discomfort or inconvenience you experienced. Unfriendly and rude staff is unacceptable at any time. I passed on this information to our Front Office Manager and will be reviewed during the staff meeting. I also have forward the information to our Chief Engineer to check the a/c's in our poolside building. You are right, our hotel has a different layout compared to the traditional tall buildings we normally see in big cities like San Diego. We do offer different levels of room rates and we hope that you can try our Bayside Building next time you are in San Diego. Sincerely, Rhinna B Meyer - Rooms Division Manager

Nice hotel with comfortable rooms

Posted 22-Jul-2015
Pros: loved the location
Cons: room cleaning
Nice hotel with comfortable rooms. Previous' occupants dirty socks were left behind in the room and not removed by cleaning staff. Other than that, the beds were great and lots of amenities.

No views and free breakfast with that price is kind of overvalue.

Hotel was nice, parking was difficult.

Posted 14-Jul-2015
Pros: The check-in was good. Hotel staff were courteous and friendly.
Cons: The parking was too far from the hotel room, which made it difficult since we were traveling with two small children.
Location: Close to everything downtown in San Diego.
Had a nice stay, rooms were clean and comfortable.

Dear Kikibug40: Thank you so much for your comments. I am so sorry that you had difficulty in trying to find parking that is close to your room. With high demand and such limited space I understand your frustration. But we sure do want to see you again when you visit San Diego. Sincerely, Rhinna B Meyer - Rooms Division Manager
